I found Pedal Patch on google, I needed a tube and tyre for my son's bmx. Walked into this shop plenty of parking outside and side street. Was approached by the owner who I spoke to beforehand. Very friendly and knowledgeable person who explained to me the different types of brand tyres he had. We choose the maxxis and my son wanted pegs as well. His young son come over and was talking to my son about pegs and what he had on his bmx. customer service A+++. What really suprised me is I was only planning to buy I tube and one tyre so I only took $100 cash. Ended up with 2 tyres tube and pegs. The total bill was $120. I offered to transfer the $20 but the owner has trust in people and told me just come back on Monday. I walked back to my car and found $20 in change and paid the bloke really impressed by this local small business and will definitely go there again.
Took in my bike to get repaired after super rough ride: Front wheel completely smashed, loose bearings, creaky noises, failed breaks, etc. At this time though I was unsure of which shop to take my bike in to get it repaired because I've had some bad experiences at other bike stores where they overcharge and barely do a good job on servicing the bike. I'm so glad I took it in at Pedal Patch though because their customer service, passion and knowledge about mountain biking is out of this world. What I really love about them too is that there's no BS with them. They will tell you the truth and recommend you on things through their own experiences. They also have a great range of products and all reasonably priced too. When I got my bike back this weekend, which was completed at a reasonable charge and set of time, I couldn't believe the amount of work that they went into it. They truely went above and beyond in fixing up the bike and explained to me on the day all the issues that they fixed, and how to avoid these issues from occurring again. When I took it out for a ride yesterday, it felt like a new bike if not better. I'm glad that I did some upgrades through this shop as well, particularly the new maxxis tires because it took my riding experience to a whole another level. During my ride too, I felt so safe knowing that Nick and the team worked on it and did the best they could to fix everything up. I would definitely recommend to shop at this store. Very impressed and thanks once again Nick and Team :
Great local bike shop with fair prices and fast, friendly service and good advice. Fitted new tyres for me on the spot.
Absolutely a great shop. Small business and dealing with real people. Really informative and happy that I went to them!!
Cannot thank this bike shop enough for helping me with my daughter bike today. Merry Christmas!
I really want to give more stars to Pedal Patch but I can't say that I had a good experience; here are three reasons why. When I brought the bike in I was told that what I requested would cost between 200 to 300 dollars, but when I came to pick up my bike the bill was $540. The price isn't the problem for me as I wanted my bike to be in good shape; it is more the fact that at no point was I called to inform or ask about these additional bills. The second problem I had was that I was told that the bike would be ready in 2-3 weeks. I dropped off the bike on the 3rd of November and had to call so that they could tell me that it is ready for pick up on the 15th of December. The last and most important of these is that Pedal patch did not call me even once during the 7 weeks that they kept my bike. The only times that I was updated were when I called. Nice workers and clearly have great bike knowledge, but I can't excuse the lacking communication and openness about delays/billing.
Mixed experience here to be honest. Phoned up about getting my wheels trued and derailleur adjusted and told to bring it over. Drove the bike to them in the middle of my work day to be told it needed to be booked in, which is fair enough. Took my details but I don't think I ever heard back. I would've phoned to follow up except while I was there, they also had a crack at me for buying parts from an online retailer... During lockdown. Look, I get it. But at the end of the day the internet's been here 20 years now. Local bike shops can't compete for product range and economies of scale that the large online warehouses have and it's only going to get worse. In a digital world, the competitive advantage of an LBS lies in the skills and expertise of their technicians, as well as having that ability to just have chat with customers and make them feel like they're genuinely being looked after. Your operating model should pivot around providing exceptional customer experience with focus on the servicing aspect of bike ownership, not products and definitely not flaming potential customers for it either. Other than that, from my small interaction with them they do seem to be quite knowledgeable about bikes. Pointed out a few things that I'd done wrong with the bike e.g. routing of the shift cable from a quick look over it.
Professional service and highly recommended as we were looking for new Mountain Bike for my 11yo son. Nick was as always dependable and quick to suggest best sized frame and explain differences between models. Fitted some essential accessories and out the door with yet another new bike within a few minutes after custom adjustment to suit his riding style and leg length....
Came in to have brakes bled. Owner was super welcoming and spent a lot of time looking over the bike. Also was trying to help fix a dropper post that I needed to get looked at under warranty elsewhere even thought I told him not to worry about it. I've been to a few bike stores before and most don't give you the time of day unless you've bought the bike from them. Will definitely be coming back to support this local business. Very reasonable pricing for servicing also
Nick and his team have top notch knowledge about all things bike. Does quality work. Best customer service I’ve come across. Honest and fair and transparent service. Nick takes time to explain everything so you can make good Great range of bikes, scooter s and related accessories including bike racks. Happily recommend him
