Update 12/13/2022: After my previous review, I was able to contact Peak Properties and their leadership to resolve our property's outstanding roofing leak issue. They respectfully kept in contact with me as the repairs were completed. The house interior was also reworked by a Peak Properties maintenance man, Luke, who did an excellent job and was very nice. I cannot give a full 5 star rating due to the previous issues I've had with Peak, but the current rating does represent my satisfaction with this organization. Previous Review: Peak Properties does not care about their properties. I have been leasing a property from Peak in Cincinnati for 3 years now. In the past they fixed most issues within a reasonable amount of time but lately, they continue to demonstrate that they are incapable of prioritizing major maintenance issues. My house has had a horrible roofing leak for 4 months now, and it still has not been fixed. This is still the case even after MANY maintenance requests, emergency maintenance phone calls, and direct email correspondence with property managers. We have even had multiple maintenance workers over to assess the leak. Peak does not care about their property and does not care about the well-being of their tenants. I DO NOT recommend leasing from this organization.
I rent from peak in Columbus and they are the absolute WORST company I have ever rented from. Connor takes forever to respond to emails or phone calls. They treated the mold as a surface growth once and then ignored emails and calls that it had not gone away and it has been growing and growing. After weeks of sending maintenance requests and emails and leaving voicemails I only heard back from Connor after sending a very assertive email. And he only called to say they they were not going to do anything about it because it was already treated and I should just crack a window. We have been keeping a damprid in the bathroom to absorb moisture and have obviously previously tried opening a window. But this is clearly NOT just a surface issue. IT IS A HEALTH HAZARD. And they do not seem to care AT ALL. I would put ZERO stars if I could.
I just moved into one of the properties last weekend. I sent them my move in checklist Monday morning of specific issues I ran into. They had everything fixed and left a nice note by the time I got home from work that day. I was very impressed and satisfied! Tonight my key got stuck in my lock and I immediately panicked and called emergency maintenance as I did not feel safe leaving it in there. Tyler responded very quickly and fixed my issue. He was very professional and respectful and helped ease my nerves by answering all my questions without judgement. This is my first time renting on my own and Peak Property Group has made my transition very smooth and easy. I highly recommend one of their Columbus properties for your renting needs!
I have been apartment hunting since I've been in Columbus. I have viewed 1 of 2 possible homes and honestly it was reassuring that the person I've been in contact with Maddi or Madison. Has been with me the whole step of the way. Whether I take either apartment or not. She definitely has made the process smooth and has been in constant communication. Going as far as to take time out of her schedule to meet me and discuss anything pertaining to the apartments. I say don't knock it till you try it.
Website is super convenient and easy to understand. Scheduled an appointment with no problem, they sent a verification code 24 hours in advance to confirm the appointment. We arrived early to check out the property and were greeted by Maddy. She let us do our thing and take as much time and we would like. We then came back with questions for her in which she answered every one which we really appreciated. Ended up applying right after the tour, really satisfied with the customer service and overall quality of the company.
They are not here for you, just here to make money. We have not even moved in yet and they are already giving us a hard time and scamming us. First of all, the first month is not prorated with this company. So everyone pays for the full month when you can't even move in yet. Second, they don't answer calls or emails. Don't bother calling them, you will be on hold for 15 minutes just to talk to some kid that can only "send a message and get back to you". If you are leasing with this group I strongly recommend watching all payments carefully and taking very detailed pictures of the house when you move in. Finally, as of today they have very strict and confusing move-in rules that make it incredibly difficult to move in. The code to the house is being sent to us at some arbitrary time between 2 pm - 5 pm, so they expect you to sit in the driveway for 3 hours refreshing your email while waiting to move into your house. This company is just here to kick back and make money passively. Spend your hard-earned time and money elsewhere. 2 stars because the house is nice I guess
We have been renting w Peak for a couple months now and have had exceptional experiences with their maintenance workers. We have had some small issues here and there and they always come in the very next day and address the issue quickly. I would like to give a special shout out to Pat for coming in to fix what we thought was just a leaky shower which turned into replacing our hot water tank. Pat explained very clearly what was going on and was able to get it all fixed for us in under 2 hours.
I've had persistent floor drain issues and Pat with the maintenance team has been so helpful throughout. He takes the time to explain both the issue and solutions available, and on top of it he is great with my dog. I also appreciate him calling ahead of time. Thanks, Pat! Additionally, Carla Bright is one of the best people at Peak. She is wonderfully helpful and I've found her to be completely reliable and approachable from the time I first looked at my unit to now. Thank you, Carla!
After reading some of the reviews, I was somewhat skeptical of using Peak; however, I noticed many other leasing companies in Columbus had even worse reviews. We had the experience of unexpectedly needing to find new housing for our OSU student and after much searching, found a few apartments that fit what we were looking for. Connor helped with showing the apartments and was responsive to questions as we moved forward with the lease. Once Maddi Liston took over, she has been very helpful and responsive to answering any/all of the questions we had there were many questions since this change was done on such short notice. There have been some issues along the way as with any rent such as a few items needing to be fixed, and needing clarification for a few things, but everything has been resolved so we are grateful to Maddi for all of her help.
!!VERY SHADY!! DO NOT RENT HERE - i did not intend to rent from this place; my original landlord sold the property to this company. - they were constantly showing my unit the 3-4 month before i moved out - i had to remind them MULTIPLE times that it is illegal to enter without 24 hours notice - they tried to renovate the apartment while i was still living there, and i had to move out 2 weeks early paying double rent at 2 apartments because they demolished the entire kitchen. i wouldve had no kitchen for at least a week, probably longer - the heating vent in my basement had a gaping hole, and they “fixed” it with duct tape - they took their sweet time giving me back my deposit, and held $200 for unspecified “damages” no itemized listing of what those supposed damages were: the place was in rough shape when i moved in - ive had a good few landlords by now, and these people are definitely the worst. they will not respect you, and they have no regard for your existence as a human being. i am so happy to be out of that apartment. !!AVOID IF YOU CAN!!
