Tonight was our fifth time (we think!) at Pasture. Ed and Laura’s menu gets more and more interesting and more and more delicious each time we visit. If you are keen to try tastes that you can’t experience anywhere else in Auckland try here. It is not your run of the mill restaurant, so be prepared to be amazed at the flavours they can produce.

My first time dining at Pasture it transported me into an episode of chefs table. World class holistic fine dining in Auckland!? I can’t speak highly enough of Pasture. Everything at the restaurant is considered, the only thing that I ever spotted which hints towards the “other side” of restaurant life was a dust pan and broom behind the counter, and even that was beautiful! The food at times is other worldly and the lengths they take to honour their ingredients and beliefs is mind blowing. I recently found out that sugar isn’t an ingredient in the kitchen!

Obviously, the food was superb, but the experience of Pasture stretches well beyond what goes into your mouth. The theatre that went into creating each dish well justified the expense of both time and money - so come with plenty of both. Their philosophy is fresh and local, with many of the stores produced in-house. The sourced ingredients represented a tour of the best New Zealand has to offer, with each prepared with obvious care and passion. It was a joy to witness the team seamlessly moving between stations, supporting each other with minimal conversation. And the drinks pairing was spot-on each time: We highly recommend the 'Pasture' match - a non-alcoholic option demonstrating the same seasonality, ingenuity and attention to detail as the food itself.

One of the best dining experiences I have ever had in Auckland. Beautiful presentation of exceptional quality food. As the menu changes almost daily it's not possible to make recommendations but the wagu beef was unbelievably good. Very expensive but totally worth it if you have something special worth celebrating.
