Amano is about sharing our passion for food with our guests.
It’s about staying true to our belief in provenance and sharing only seasonal, sustainable and local produce from New Zealand growers and farmers.

It's about humble service delivering rustic, Italian-inspired fare and providing a space for you to feel relaxed and connected to your food and its origin.

Situated opposite Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour and spanning Britomart’s historic Altrans and Quay buildings, our bakery, restaurant and bar are now playing their part in the rich history of this beautiful site.

As always top notch service and delicious food. I was however less than impressed with the 3 well dressed young men who seemed to think the "shared " table was an appropriate place to carry on their expletive laden conversation in raised voices. Perhaps they had their trainer wheels on and will improve.! Again, thanks Amano. My favourite restaurant.

Astonishingly welcoming and warm service. Superior fresh food. Totally impressive. This is one of the very best restaurants in Auckland. Go there, you will not be disappointed. Terrific bakery attached. 100 per cent quality! A signal of Hip Groups fine attention to customers and service. This place is a truly special place. Had fantastic carpaccio, oysters in the Shell and crayfish tortellini. Perfect.

Lovely food and the friendliest service. We sat at the bar where there wasn’t the most room and weren’t facing each other but it was very enjoyable watching the chefs cook. The waitress who served us was happy to explain to us the menu. There are some items you can order that aren’t on the menu, such as bread with olive oil. It is good to note that you’ll need to book well in advance to get a seat. We had to wait for 45 minutes or sit at a shared table. We opted for the 45 minute wait to get the bar seat. The food was fantastic! Although the pasta portion size was a bit big and could of been slightly less spicy. The flavours were lovely. My partner ordered the lamb which was so soft and tender; note i don’t normally like lamb.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Would definitely recommend. Food and drinks were excellent and service great! We toured all over the North Island and this was definitely our best dining experience by far! We decided to visit the bakery the next morning for breakfast which was also great.

Beautiful vibe at Amano. Food was delicious (had dinner) and fine dining prices but not over priced. Will be going back too. During the day they also have the most incredible bakery... don't visit that too hungry as the selections are unreal! Coffee is good too!
