Moving here from the UK I had been warned that Auckland's Indian restaurants wouldn't hold up to the same standards. Whilst in general that may be true, this restaurant is the exception. The food was superb, the service was excellent and very friendly. There are some tables outside for when it's a nice summer's day (something they don't have in the UK). All in all very enjoyable and will be going again.

The food is really nice, with a good presentation. The service was pretty decent! It is not so private, the tables are quite close to each other, but it totally deserves a visit. I can’t wait to be back. It is not that cheap, so I would recommend it for a special occasion.

. (11/2017) Has been one of our favourite Indian restaurants in Auckland throughout all these years primarily due to delicious food, quality service and unique atmosphere. Always found staff very welcoming. Good for groups, family and celebrations. Normally busy and reservation is recommended. Outdoor seating is available. A good Indian restaurant up on Parnell.Their service was good, served us water and poppadoms while we were waiting for our food. The mains are nice, I ordered the Punjabi Saag Ghosht (lamb in spinach sauce) and that was perfect; the lamb was tender and the sauce was very flavorful. The mango lassi was quite good too, cut the heat from the curry.

I’m from the uk were Indian food is amazing, iv lived here 5 years and never had a 1 close to UK 1’s and I have a lot until tonight Oh Calcutta is the best Indian I’ve had since moving here. I had the beef vindaloo made extra hot
