First time here and introduced to me by a Asian friend. Many Asians eating here which was a good sign. Good layout, friendly staff and service. Good menu variety. I ordered the Malaysian Curry chicken. Good rice serving. Chicken was boned and must admit, not a great deal of chicken on it. Good tasty curry sauce. My friend had a pork and tofu dish and the pork I tried was great. Worth the visit for an authentic Hong Kong style dining experience.
Disappointed, won't come back again! I ordered mix vegetable and tofu curd, the flavor is not good, not as fresh or clear as I expected, too much soy sauce that destroys the flavor. Not worth it money too. The smallest xiao long bao I ever had, look not tantalizing either.
Food are fine. My Hong Kong friend said similar taste as a HK but.. can you image the stuff use vacuum under my chair while having food..?!?! Not only once.. keep doing anytime. I guess stuff has nothing to do No way.. so disappointed what stuffs did.. won’t come back anymore
AUTHENTIC CANTONESE IN A NO-FRILLS ENVIRONMENT Pacific BBQ Cafe is opposite QV Centre and is a good option when all the Swanston St eateries are full. It serves authentic Hong Kong style food with an extensive menu. It is a very casual place better suited for that quick lunch than a "dining experience" think glass-topped tables with menus underneath, complimentary chinese tea in plastic cups, minimal staff interaction, sticky floors. It is still fairly quiet as patron numbers remain restricted by COVID June 2020 but the restaurant can accomodate large numbers when fully operational. Food quality is average but OK for the price. Peope with mobility issues will be fine as it is all on one level including the toilets at the back of the restaurant. Cash and cards
Had dinner with my friendsall Asian here, a bit disappointed. Out of 5, I score 3.5 on flavor, 4 on sizebased on the price too. BBQ is very good, other dishes with different flaws. Clams too salty, toufu and mushroom pot too light, seafood soup very very plain, veggie was a bit over cooked and not enough garlic. Overall it's average and flat.
! ! ! ! ! ! I’m Asian so I know my food. Unique: Authentic Hong Kong Baked Creamy Seafood Rice served piping warm. Best I eaten in my life. Next in my scope are the marinated duck wings, duck chin and hot & sour chicken feet. Generous Portion size. Good amount of Meat. Best Deal: $13 Lunch Special with Free Can Drink. Place offers quick served tasty instant noodles to fill every belly and budget. Love em Honey infused Char Siew BBQ Pork and Young Tender Chicken Combo Rice Platter. Extremely safe avenue for elderly as there are very very very BIG anti slip mats on the floor. Guaranteed quickie service by the immaculately presented, neat, smiling waiters and waitresses. Came quickly to me when I raised my hands for service. Menu kept under the glass overlay of table removes clutter from the surface and keep things clean. Atmosphere: Real Hong Kong Tea Cafe Sofa Theme & Clean. Temperature is Climate Controlled. Crowd: Professionals - Asians, Caucasian, Professionals, Students Place is packed full of people eating thus the food must be good. The food turnover rate is high thus the food must be fresh. If you don't like queuing, why not order takeaway and enjoy in the comfort of your home to binge watch movies? I give it 5 / 5 stars. I will return to try different dishes like the $13 lunch specials & drinks as they all look tasty. I highly recommend you to schedule into your reminder to bring your family, colleagues and friends there this week for a pleasant gastronomic experience. : ! ! ! ! ! ! Still the best roast duck I had, given the fact that I'm from Singapore and travelled frequently. The roast duck is tender and the skin is crispy to perfection. The roast meat is quite good too, crispy and tender. Service staff could be a little friendlier to make the dining experience a better one.
Ordered a baked tomato chicken spaghetti for dinner. At first it looked like it’s not going have enough sauce to go with the spaghetti, but at the end I found there was more sauce at the bottom. Tasted authentic, just like those in Hong Kong. The chicken was tender and not dried. And the portion was quite large. Yum!
Good serving size. Make sure if ordering bbq meats you ask for them to be freshly cut so they’re steaming hot. Classic Chinese dishes can’t go wrong. Service very quick and friendly.
Ordered the chicken rice with soy chicken and bbq pork. BBQ pork is moist but it’s not a typical chicken rice you’d get in Singapore or Malaysia. No chilli as well. It’s just very plain. Portions are big but just lacks flavour. 6/10 for me.
