This place is always busy. Decided to give it it ago and our meals all were tasty. Very quick and efficient services. I would love to come back to try more I did come back love the crispy chicken!!!
Our food arrived in less than 10 minutes after the order was placed. The clams in XO sauce were succulent, and sweet with a spicy kick. Loved that staff came by regularly to clear away the shells that we threw in a bowl. Congee was good and came in 2 sizes. We took the small one and shared amongst the 3 of us. Funny thing was the fried Chinese dough came in one size and it was plenty! Must order the salt & pepper pork ribs. So good. Flavourful and tender well cooked pork. Yums. The salted fish tofu didn't look like much but was super tasty and goes well with rice.

ORDERED: Chinese Donut sticks Pippis in XO sauce Lobster with egg noodles Preserved egg and pork congee Fried chicken ribs REVIEW: Between 8 people, we had the dinner of our lives. We feasted on the classic chinese meal where I learnt how to dip the chinese donuts into the pippi sauce to great an intriguingly savoury crunchy, yet soft donut, and how to crack lobster legs. It really hit me in the right spot for my lobster egg noodles craving. Absolutely delicious and incredibly filling. We couldn't even fully finish the congee - unfortunately we were a victim of over ordering. The service is straightforward, with a bit of tongue-in-the-cheek humour that I'm used to from traditional Asian restaurants. For instance, calling over a waiter to firstly order tap water to have him rebuke "you called me over to order tap water?!?!" All in good humour, of course. Service is efficient and a well oiled machine to come around a throw out the shells and carcasses in the spare bowls they provide you.
One of my favourite place for supper, an institution in Melbourne that's definitely not to be missed. Now located on Lonsdale Street, not far from their old spot, the food is just as good as before. Can't go wrong with the XO pipis with Chinese Donuts, Water Spinach with Fermented Bean Curd, and the Salt & Pepper Squid and Chicken. Great flavours and excellent execution. So glad that they have reopened!
Chinese Comfort Food At Its Finest One of the best chinese food in Melbourne are. The staffs are nice and the service is speedy! The food is amazing. The taste and the presentation is good enough and the portion is very generous A must try for sure
Had a dinner here and really enjoyed their new venue. It is cleaner and well maintained. We had a few diferent menus, xo pious, stir fry chinese broccoli, pork ribs, steamed baramundi and hokkian rice. As every othwr reviews mentioned, their xo pipis are great, but to my surprise their hokkian rice also tasted amazing ! Def coming back here
Animal cruelty. The poor crabs and lobsters are alive in the small Aquarium. I saw a guy ordering one. They boil them ALIVE when it was proven that these animals can feel pain. The people that do that will be gotten by karma. And I decided to send the picture to the authorities. The animal should feel be boiled alive. Hopefully they will close this restaurant after investigating
First time tried the food since they move to Lonsdale street, the food was a bit too salty and spicy compared to when they were at china town. But overall still a good place to eat with friends. Next time will try something different and see.
The containers weren’t nearly full. Considering the black bean and pork where $34 each you’d think we’d get more than a spoonful. Food tasted good and the delivery was fast, but I’m really disappointed by the portions.
