.5 if only google did half stars! After seeing the reviews we were a little bit worried but were fortunate enough to have a nice experience! We really enjoyed their extensive menu and that you can order from the table using a QR code so convenient. We were greeted kindly upon arrival and were assisted the whole time. I was told the team were new / new owners so I commend them for their efforts . We ordered: Fried pork w/veg dumpling Steamed pork dumpling Chicken wonton XLB - pork Flat rice noodles Nasi Goreng Crunchy lemon chicken Deep fried fish in sweet and sour sauce Everyone must order their signature lemon chicken - it was crunchy, cooked to perfection and was accompanied by a sweet lemon sauce. This was a big highlight for us! The flat rice noodles were heavenly and our dumplings came out steaming - and of course tasted excellent. We did enjoy the nasi goreng but the dish is probably more closely aligned to a fried rice! An enjoyable place that is kind on the wallet for the amount of food you get! Look forward to coming back!
This spot recently changed hands and is all the better for it, in my opinion. A sibling restaurant to Shanghai Village, they also specialise in budget friendly dumplings and BYO. The veg noodles and salt & pepper tofu weren’t great but the fried and steamed veg dumplings are both failsafe options. They also have a digital menu now for easy table side ordering.
I guess there should be more leeway for a place that's as cheap as they are, but I don't know how much that can excuse being served stone cold pork that looks like a tiny fetus. This is meant to be shanghai fried rice with shredded pork. This dish. The rice was warm in some spots and cold in the others. The dumplings were okay but hard to decipher between the prawn and chicken ones so that's cause for concern. Satay skewers were solid. I'd probably suggest going across to China Bar. I'd rather take my chances with a cockroach then eat here again
Delicious pork and veggie dumplings, especially for the price! And even better chili oil! Highly recommend.
Food let us down cold entrée in the middle, quality of the ingredients was lacking, or did not feel freshly made and some dishes had an “old” taste to them but prices are reasonable. I am very confused at other good reviews but perhaps we were unlucky on that day. Service was polite and relatively fast.
I like the way they serve food to their customer. Waiters are very polite and deliver your order very quickly. I am very satisfied with their taste. They have magic in their taste. I like their sitting arrangement and the ambience is also quite nice. will definitely visit again!!!
Excellent dumplings. We tried the chicken/prawn and the beef ones and they were outstanding. The crowd is mostly Asian people, which tells you that the food is authentic and good quality.
Supervisor was super friendly. I am vegan and he made an extra effort of checking whether all the ingredients were vegan. Apparently the peanut sauce with chilli oil dumplings had some sort of pork oil so that was good to know. Anyways, had a great meal and the place was relaxing
This is a really great restaurant in China Town. We tried a variety of dishes that were all really flavoursome, cooked to perfection and had the right amount of spice. Dishes: 1. Fried chicken and prawn dumplings 2. Pork wonton in chilli oil with peanut and sesame butter sauce 3. Steamed pork shao long bao 4. Custard buns 5. Sambal Prawns 6. King bao style diced chicken in dark soy chilli sauce 7. Sliced beef with Chinese broccoli in black bean sauce 8. Brown sugar soy milk with grass jelly My favourite was the sliced beef as it was so tender and tasty. I also really enjoyed the prawns as they had a great flavour. Dumpling wise the fried chicken and prawn was my favourite.
Known and been here since late 90s, but haven't been back since I had my first child, now w 3 in tow come there, all my ever growing kids and monster eater well fed there. Dumplings still lovely as ever although chilli become extinct. Love it! Looking forward to come back with my kids and making memories again. Eat lots of different dishes here and all was lovely and delish as ever.
