This carpark isnt as well sign posted as the rest seem to be, it was a little tricky to find the carpark just by following the signs but if you follow the directions in Google Maps they will get you to the right place. Parking here to go to the Tennis was a bit expensive at $30, but it is very close to the tennis centre, very easy walk and exiting after the event was surprisingly fast. Carpark has stairs and elevators
Easy to find parking. Great location to both Vax centre. Just make sure you double check where your Vax centre as the sign only points you to Qudos arena.
Due to covid the parking was free with easy access. Turn left off Australia Avenue and turn left into Sarah Durack Avenue and about 150m on your left turn into the P3 Parking block. Best to drive straight up to the upper levels. The chance of getting a ground floor spot are pretty rare. I usually start looking for a spot on the third level depending on the event taking place. Parking rates are on a sign as you drive in but generally the rates are what they are in the sense that no matter what you will have to pay as there is no other choice. So I guess there is some system in place to keep a grip on raising car park prices which like everything else in the city of Sydney is expensive and out of step with regular cost of living. However, it’s a choice. Take a bus. Take a train. There are no flights to SOP. Car spaces are very narrow and if you get a spot that has a structural support pillar your space to get out of the seat depends on the girth of your frame. Move is a couple of beer decades wider. But I got out using Houdini style manoeuvres. Parking is central to the social event culture of survey, football grounds, beaches, ovals and cinemas so parking if you bought into it early on in the rise of non-public transport era you are taking in coin like a first runner at a gold rush. Anyway irony was yesterday was free parking!
The P3 Secure Parking station is really easy to find and get to with easy to read signs directing you straight to it as soon as you enter Olympic Park. It is the closest parking station, and a short 5-10 minute walk to and from the NSW Health Vaccination Centre in Homebush. They have added lots of signs directing you to the centre as well.
Terrible organisation for the chilli peppers concert. Sat in car for an hour before moving! Useless.
If anyone is wondering how to ensure you get free parking for being vaccinated, when you leave the vaccination hub there's a machine on the way out that validates your ticket. This info doesn't seem to be easy to find online, I could have missed it but tldr. Otherwise, it's just a car park, might have been easier and a shorter walk to park on street near the station.
Parking in the C or D section of P3 is great, the exit is relatively quick considering its event parking. If you however park in the front left corner of the carpark B tower I believe when exiting after an event in Ken Rosswell Arena at only 30% capacity, you can sit still for anywhere from 90 - 120minutes, not moving at all due to the way the carpark is structured for exit. The other levels pile into the exit lane which leaves the aisle closes to Sarah Durack avenue stationary. If you are using P3, park in the 2 towers furthest from Sarah Durack avenue.
Poorly designed. I found a few empty spots next to pylons supporting the upper levels. Was in a hurry and managed to maneuver car in there. Even though I have a small hatchback, I had to exit by jumping across to passenger side. Why are those not motorcycle spots if small car cant really fit? Took a while to exit & they charge by the hour. Even 30secs over is extra. No buffer to allow for traffic at all even if you ask.
It does not resonate to me as fair to drive all this way to a place that is relatively quiet and still need to pay expensive parking rates.. without alternatives. It's like a double up on the tickets and is completely unfair especially when the cost of building the facility was completely covered ages ago and they only have now running costs. What makes more sense? Open it up for compensation- have one parking lot run by another company, allow longer free period and or limit the charges when they behave as a monopoly.
Amazing complimentary parking for those getting vaccinated. Park upstairs if you would like less congestion. The walk is around 5 minutes to the vaccination hub. Tip: Stay in the car if you are way early or arrive only 15-20 mins prior vaccination booking time by the way.
