Story

Ormeggio at The Spit is a fine dining restaurant specialising in Contemporary Italian cuisine. We use both new and exciting and traditional techniques of cooking and deliver a very unique waterfront dining experience. We have a talented and experienced team of chefs led by Alessandro Pavoni and his Head Chef and Business Partner Victor Moya.

I booked lunch at Ormeggio for my husband’s Birthday. We had their Spring Special of 5 course menu.nIt was a beautiful sunny day when we were there. The view was beautiful and the staff were welcoming and attentive.nI’m not a fan of “raw food” so I was a bit worried I couldn’t eat most of the food on the menu but to my surprise I actually really enjoyed every dishes.nIt’s worth the 1 hour drive here. Highly recommended.

As always every single element of our visit to Ormeggio was perfection. We loved it. Pili our waitress is the best! So knowledgeable about every single dish, anticipating our every need with such elegance and just a lovely person to chat to! The food was incredible. Every single dish we adored. Best way to bring in the new year!! Thank you team Ormeggio!

Quite a disappointing experience we had for lunch today.nWe went there to celebrate a 21st birthday, so we decided to go with the set menu. It was very upsetting.nFor the price that you pay you expect some decent amount of food, but no you end up with some tiny piece of food, which is basically 2 piece of bread, a scallop and two tiny main and a dessert. Definitely not worth it.nPlus, service wasn’t good either, the glasses of wines and water were always empty and had to ask a waiter to refill them, which you aren’t supposed to do. And also, we bought a bottle a champagne who was put in an ice bucket but without ice ? So it end up being room temperature.nWent with a party who have visited many, many times and love this restaurant, and they agreed today was a very disappointing low. Won’t come back.

We had a lovely evening at Ormeggio at The Spit. Maurizio took wonderful care of us and made the experience feel warm and effortless.nnThe standout dishes were the Ormeggio’s Dirty Caprese, creative and full of flavour, and the Amalfi Lemon, which was the perfect fresh and elegant finish and prepared by the chef on the table. Beautiful food, attentive service and a setting that makes you want to come back

Our dining experience was rather odd, the dishes were very surprising and nothing like what we imagined from their vague descriptions. It felt like you had to encode the ingredients on the menu into the dishes. A special shout out to the caprese salad which for some diabolical reason was blended and served in a martini glass. Yes that’s correct, blended mozzarella. Diabolical. The Italians would be enraged. The highlight was the octopus, which was surprisingly a taco; delicious flavours! The steak was also great, THE BREAD WAS LIFE CHANGNG, chips a little salty, but all in all worth a try just get ready for high prices and lots of surprises. Lastly, the Italian waitress was lovely and needs a raise.
