Stayed here on a recent worktrip. The staff at check in were very nice and welcoming. The hotel rooms were very modern and clean and overall welcoming after a long day on the road.nnThe room was spacious and had a modern bathroom, queen size bed and a wardrobe with an area to store your suitcase. It also had a nice size tv and a sofa to relax on. There was even a small in built laundry, which unfortunately I couldn't use as Qantas had lost all my clothing for the week.nnThe restaurant hotel attached had a happy hour from 5-7 where you can get $5 schooners, wines or spirits. I left feeling very happy.nnThe food was also good and well priced. I had the Thai Beef salad which was lovely.nnReally liked this place and would stay again.
We stayed there overnight on a road trip from Airlie Beach to the Gold Coast.nThe ladies on reception were delightful.nWe found our room spacious and tastefully decorated .nWe had a balcony but little view.nEverything was very clean.nWe parked in the Basement 1 car park because it had a locking gate. You use your room card to get into this basement. Basement 2 didn’t lock and there is also outside parking.nWe were leaving early the next morning because we had a long road trip ahead of us .nThere is a Coffee Club close, but it was under renovation when we were there. The main pedestrian street is very close and has a number of cafes. The ladies on reception will be happy to recommend some.nMy husband is a bit of a Fixit man. The carpet was fraying in the middle of the room so he used our scissors to cut it. Some curtain hooks were coming off the track and he fixed those as well.nThe door to the bathroom was very loose. The screws were almost hanging out. In a drawer he found a wine opener with a knife attached and fixed the handle.nThis is no real comment on the hotel itself. With so many clients, wear and tear is expected.nThere was some outside noise when a local was driving around in a “muscle car”.nIf you like a hard bed, you’ll be happy here. I did find it uncomfortable.nBe careful with the bathroom tiles because they are very slippery.nWe enjoyed our stay here … apart from the two negatives above.nWe recommend going to Auckland House for dinner and watching the sunset. Go up to Auckland Hill for the view and walk around the beautiful East Shores parklands.
Our room had a funny smell, we complained politely and the lady on the desk swapped us up to the 9th floor very swiftly! Great service. Organised a taxi for us despite Qantas moving the goalposts a couple of times! Thanks
My go to staycation place everytime I have business trip at Gladstone. Reasonable room rate, spacious room with complete amenities, strategic location in the heart of Gladstone city. Thank you so much Oaks Gladstone team for great services and hospitality.
I regularly stay at the oaks gladstone and everytime I have found this hotel to be the best in Gladstone. The staff here are amazing, very helpful and kind especially holly who not only made extending my stay extremely easy but is always happy and friendly which is far different from the staff I have met in surrounding hotels . Rooms are great which is to be expected when booking the oaks, but what isnt expected is how great the staff are. I definitely recommend the oaks gladstone to anyone that is thinking of staying in Gladstone. The staff here definitely make a difference between an average stay and a wonderful one so shout out to them for doing such a great job you guys are the best.nLoren
