nGreat Lunch Stop on Our Darwin–Noosa Road TripnnMy wife and I stopped into the Gladstone Yacht Club for lunch while travelling south from Darwin to Noosa for our Christmas break. She was craving seafood, so I searched for a good spot along the way—and this place popped up.nnWhile it wasn’t quite the “seafood paradise” it was made out to be online, we were pleasantly surprised by just how good the beer‑battered fish was. Honestly, it was some of the best we’ve had anywhere. The calamari, on the other hand, felt a bit mass‑produced and didn’t really stand out, but the quality of the fish more than made up for it.nnWhat really lifted the whole experience was the staff. They were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The service was spot‑on, and the venue itself was spotless. We grabbed a table by an open window, and the sea breeze drifting through was exactly what we needed after a long stretch on the road. It refreshed us perfectly for the final leg to Noosa.nnAll up, a great stop with excellent fish, wonderful staff, and a relaxing atmosphere. Worth pulling in for if you’re passing through.nn---
Had sister's 50th birthday here. The staff and food was great! Wish I took a pic of the Mexican parmi I had, it was massive and tasty! Wife had some seafood pasta, she said it was good, and the seafood quality was great and good servings but had the seafood been cooked a bit better then it would have been a perfect dish! Can't really blame them as there were a couple of parties going on at the time so the kitchen would have been hectic trying to get out all the food. But they still did a great job as there weren't any real complaints and the food got scoffed down.
The food was good here with good servings for your money. Staff were very friendly and prompt with getting orders out. The only downside was that tables were booked out, so we had to sit at the bar area with young kids and my short a55 on bar stools while the reserved tables remained empty for our time there, it was also really hot inside which made the heatwave outside seem like air-con when we left. I would probably go again without kids as it's not the greatest for them.
Had a beautiful lunch and a delightful cold beer overlooking the water. The atmosphere of this old venue is warm and inviting. The view is stunning with the fresh ocean breeze enhancing your sensors. The staff were all delightfully, friendly, smiling, and couldn’t do enough to help put this on your bucket list for a lunchtime evening experience of Gladstone Marina.
Great place to visit, good prices and good food. Was nice sitting on the verandah having a frosty and a meal. If your in Gladstone you should go. Seemed like a nice family venue.
