I recently stayed at the Novotel Geelong and had a generally pleasant experience, though there are areas that could use improvement. The hotel’s standout feature is its fantastic location, right on the waterfront and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The staff is friendly and welcoming, which made check-in and dining experiences enjoyable. The rooms are spacious enough for a comfortable stay, and the bathrooms are well-designed, though some fixtures could use maintenance—loose fittings and low water pressure in the shower were minor inconveniences.nnOne of the best surprises of my stay was Tempo, the hotel’s downstairs restaurant. The food and service were excellent, making it a must-visit even if you’re not staying at the hotel.nnHowever, there were some drawbacks. The valet service can get messy, especially because the front desk staff is responsible for handling it alongside check-ins, causing delays. A dedicated valet team would make the process much smoother. Additionally, storage space in the rooms is lacking, with only two hangers provided and no usable drawers, making it difficult to unpack properly. The overall room quality varies—some could benefit from better cleaning and updates, as I noticed dust on top of the wardrobe and stains on the carpet.nnIf you’re booking a bay view room, be aware that there’s a huge difference between them—some have wrap-around balconies, while others only have a small space just large enough for two chairs. It’s worth confirming the balcony type when making a reservation.nnOverall, the Novotel Geelong has a lot going for it, particularly its prime location and friendly service. With better organization at the front desk, improved storage solutions, and some maintenance updates, it could easily be a top-tier stay.
This hotel is well located and nicely decorated. The furnishings were luxurious and there was a good choice of TV channels. The staff were friendly, but stressed over the long weekend.nThe room was not as clean as it could have been and I found long hair from previous occupants and the surfaces were dusty / dirty to the degree that I wiped all these down with antibacterial wipes before using them. The room was not serviced once during my 3 night stay. On checkout I was advised that this was an “on request service”, however I had not been advised of that on checking in.
We had a problem with our room during our stay, however, the staff all the up to the Manager where so humble and responsive and I cannot thank the team enough. It is great to see good old fashioned style service in such a modern, clean and great location venue.nThank you and we will certainly be staying there again.
I recently stayed in a one bedroom apartment with park views and loved it. The check in process was so easy and loved that I could park on the property. The bed was so comfortable and the room was well equipped. One of my favourite places to stay and would highly recommend. Will definitely be backnGreat staff who were happy to help with anything needed. Wish there were more people like this in the industry
Nice & relaxing hotel on the foreshore. Rooms are spacious with room to stretch out.nSmall balcony with table & chairs.nRoom didn't have blackout blinds, so morning sun made sleeping in difficult.nShower is great with 2 different heads, and hot water comes on very quick.nBed is comfy, but neither of the 2 pillows in the room were particularly comfy.nFoxtel available in the rooms.nClose to everything that you could possibly want.nReally, the only real negative is the cost of parking.nWould stay again if I found a package that included parking.nBreakfast was delicious. The fruit was fresh & flavourful, and lots of staples.nTheir breakfast buffet was a highlight of our stay. Not heaps of options, but what they had they did well.
