Story

We regret that due to the huge number of cancellations following the earthquake we have closed Nikau Lodge until further notice.

Conveniently located in the heart of Kaikoura with magnificent hilltop views of sea and mountains, Nikau Lodge offers high quality affordable Bed and Breakfast accommodation.

Relax in the garden hot-tub, sit on the verandah with a glass of wine and gaze at the stars and snow-capped mountains, or enjoy our lounge for cosy evenings next to the woodfire.

Continental and full cooked breakfasts are on offer in the morning using homemade muesli and cereals, and quality, fresh local produce including free range eggs. Wake to stunning views, delicious food and fresh percolated coffee or a freshly brewed cup of tea.

Great spot to stay in Kaikoura. Clean, roomy, friendly owners, TV, free fast WiFi. Location is only a 1 block walk from downtown.

Stayed here for a couple of nights .Rooms are excellent, great views , fantastic hosts and good food .Ideal place to chill out if touring NZ .Plenty of parking and a short walk down to the town .☆☆☆☆☆.

We stayed at Nikau Lodge for two nights in November 2009 in the Seal. The room was very tidy and contained all necessities, the bed was comfortable and view excellent. Everything worked and the creaking floor gave a romantic touch to our stay. The breakfast was excellent and our landlord very kind and helpfull and very effective indeed. Although the lodge was situated near the main road there was rather little noise from the traffic.
