Thursday 18th of January we thought we had found the perfect car, We saw a Mitsubishi Outlander 2007 for $5990 on trade me and immediately knew this is exactly what we wanted. We messaged the seller Nigel, and offered him $5500.00 which he accepted. The next morning my father whom is a former mechanic took the car for a test drive, he called me at work and told me it was a great buy. He also confirmed with Nigel - car yard NG Autos verbally that his daughter will contact the finance company who is already pre approved and we will take the car. I contacted my finance company, and they corresponded throughout the day with Nigel, they drew up my contract, I called my in laws to pick up my children from day care and I rushed after work to sign the contract and pick my new car up. Upon arrival at the Finance Company which is 5 minutes away from the car dealers on the same road, I was advised by the Finance Lender that the Car dealer was now not answering her calls, not returning them, and correspondence had now stopped, He then messaged her and said simply - he had  another buyer for car!!! I am disappointed, this is NOT a gentlemen's word let alone a car dealers word. I spoke to other car dealers of my experience that day on the way home, as my partner thought he would cheer me up and look at other cars, they were disgusted in what had happened and frankly I am too. If you had gotten a better offer, the least you could have done was offer it to me first, I don't stand a chance of any case, and call me naieve but what happened to good old Kiwi like people. You ruined my day, for an extra $500.00, and you tarnished your reputation. I will tell this story as much as I can, to auctions, car yards and any internet blog I can.
