Next Door Kitchen & Bar

One of my favorite local restaurants! The chefs creations are always so innovative and flavorful! The pineapple margarita, crab and ricotta fritters, shrimp and corn bisque, watermelon feta salad, and of course the best fried chicken all pictured below were amazing! We've never had a bad meal here. Thank you NDK!

Excellent dinner in a cool little town. Our first time in Balston Spa and Next Door Kitchen should be a go to. Reservations are not easy to get, so we gambled on sitting at the bar and it was a home run. Service was perfect and the barkeep was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and very personable. We enjoyed a couple of their specials and all were fantastic. Nice place and highly recommended!

I can’t say that I’ve been to a restaurant that was completely perfect in every way, but that’s what I experienced with Next Door Kitchen. Every staff member was attentive, friendly, and engaging. The ambiance, decor, and lighting was beautiful. The cocktails were delicious and the whiskey list was phenomenal. And finally, the food was incredibly impressive. I visited for the first time last night and can’t wait to return.

Absolutely lovely. My sister took me for dinner here Thursday night. She spoke highly of one of the servers Booey she had in the past and we luckily got him again! His service elevated our already phenomenal meal. We enjoyed cocktails and mocktails, well thought out and seasoned entrees using seasonal produce and divine desserts. I recommend the cider donut bread pudding in particular. It was a seasonal dessert that was so good they added it permanently to the menu and with good reason! It feels like a northeastern hug. Exactly the kind of dessert you want on a crisp evening in autumn. The atmosphere is also quite lovely and we felt our meal was paced well start to finish. Would absolutely recommend.

Whiskey selection is unlike anything Ive ever seen. They also had a 0 proof menu which I LOVE as im on a sober journey. A little small but adorable. It smells amazing inside. We got brown butter brussels, pan roasted salmon and the bucatini trout. The brussels came with crispy shallots and a delicious miso glaze. My salmon was cooked to a perfect medium and came with leek puree, lentils, pickled radish and micro greens. It was life changing! My husband moaned over his whiskey flight and his trout. Our server Booey started us off with two chef samples of a sweet potatoes puree with pecan and some fresh foccocia with a white bean spread. Booey was so helpful and had a great sense of humor. We will be back again and again!

The Next Door Kitchen and Bar is like a hidden jem located in the heart of Ballston Spa,N.Y. The atmosphere is very relaxed. The food is Superb. The combination of flavors of each dish along with the presentation leaves your mouth watering and wanting more. I had the Salmon My compliments to The Chef It was Fantastic The select menu according to them is changed seasonally, giving them the opportunity to offer more of a variety. If you are on a special diet or have allergies I would suggest to call ahead to make sure they can accommodate. We look forward to going back for more. Great restaurant overall and very nice atmosphere. The food was excellent and the service was very good too. Sat at the bar and ordered their burger - very juicy and tasty and a perfect medium rare. Also ordered the wedge salad which was very good. They also have good homemade bread that came with a white bean dip that I liked a lot. Pricey for a burger but well worth it in my opinion.

Great place. The bartender Chris was awesome, he started the nights atmosphere and experience off perfectly. Great drinks from the old fashions to espresso martini. The food was excellent starting with the apps to desert, try the cider donut bread pudding. Lately you experience and see bad service in most places as the norm, but they staffing was top notch and something from precovid. We will be back and it is worth checking out.

Wonderfully unique farm to table restaurant showcasing local artists, beers, cheeses, meats, and homemade desserts. There’s no other place in Ballston Spa doing what they do here. We ordered the cheeseboard, crab fritters, fried chicken and salmon. For dessert we shared a dessert flight. Compared to Saratoga, we paid half the price we normally would for food of this quality. Everything was juicy and cooked to perfection! Couldn’t have asked for a better night. Everything was great. I can’t say enough about this place! We love it!

I’m usually never at a loss for words… but next door kitchen… when my mouth isn’t full of the exquisitely designed creations the chef creates all I can do is smile and nod and prepare myself for the next bite. The quality of the food is second to none. From farm to table I believe. All cooked to order not sitting in warming tables… it is crystal clear the chef loves their job. The reflection it makes in their dishes shines so bright and tastes even better. What makes the experience even better? The ambiance is perfect, laid back and comfortable with a business casual setting. The waitstaff… absolutely amazing and completely engaging. They’re not afraid to suggest their favorite dishes and to me, that means a lot. They work there AND eat there! Each time we dine here it gets better and better. The shrimp and grits are our go to but we’ve NEVER had anything that was even just ok. Thank you so much to the amazing team at Next Door Kitchen for bringing the incredible delight to reality.
