We come from the island of Taiwan, formerly known as formosa (beautiful island). Taiwan is located in South East Asia, it has a population of twenty four million and is made up of a wide diversity of people from many different Cultural groups in an area about the size of Canterbury.

We wish to introduce you to more Asian Cuisine, hope you enjoy the food, the environment and the service with us.

Two of us enjoyed an early dinner at the Naruwan. It is billed as a Taiwanese Restaurant and the menu is different from what we usually see in New Zealand. It is similar to Szechwan, not the usual Cantonese. The restaurant was very large, comfortable, and well decorated. We enjoyed hot and sour soup, steamed buns, steamed lemon fish fillet, and stir fried beans with chili. There was lots of chili, but we like things spicy. We thought the food and service was excellent and we will certainly return when we have the opportunity. We learned that the restaurant has recently been listed for sale so it is reasonable to expect there will be changes. Note that the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Sunday evenings and closed between 2 and 5 pm.
Very clean and nice deco. Tried the lunch specials. The taste is okay but the main dishes are not of good portions.
My partner and I have been here twice in 2 weeks and we plan on coming a lot more!! They have a little candy bowl up front and we grab some every time. The staff are so sweet and kind, we love the atmosphere here and the decor. Beautiful restaurant, Beautiful!
Really enjoyed the takeaway, food was delicious and very tasty. The best Taiwanese I have tasted very impressed and definitely be going back. Good place to take family and share a meal together Is very clean and tidy and good food an service. Highly recommended
Just got around to reviewing this restaurant. Went for lunch before christmas. I was with two others and we ordered different items to share since there wasnt many options to choose from. All were quite tasteless which is unusual for an asian restaurant. Not sure what dinner menu is like or if its any better? But I wont be returning. I hate it when I pay for a meal and it is tasteless.
Good service and friendly staff. Lost one star for the chicken way too salty, another star loss because it deep fried by dirty brown oil see pic.
Simply fantastic, Food is delicious,the service is great, it's a nice place to have lunch or a evening meal. And it's consistent. we have dined here more than once and every time food tasted amazing and was out on our table within 15minutes of us entering the restaurant, even if the place was fairly busy... No kidding what comes on your plate is what you see in the picture on the menu , And the food makes your mouth water with every bite and want more it's that good..
Really Taiwanese owns. Good food And atmosephere. Will come back again!! Come back again and find out they have new menu!! Taste still good as usual and friendly staffs!
Delicious food, good prices, and great service. Somewhat limited beer selection, and only one from Asia. Portion sizes were very decent, and we even got a special bonus during the Easter period.
Naruwan was a solid asian cuisine. The location is nice, the design is nice, the service is good too. However, the food was a little underwhelming for its price, although the portion is good. The noodles seemed a bit too soft. Also ordered a shared dish which was a large portion but okay in taste.
