Helpful staff at the visitor centre. The walk we did (Archer's Knob) was well-marked and contained fascinating, diverse scenery - lagoon, bush, forest, beach. A brisk 2-hour round trip for adults, but with our kids it turned into a 4-hour walk. The only downside: flies. We visited in January, and it's very likely to be seasonal, but the flies were so persistent, the whole time, that we were glad when the walk was over, to be honest.

Visited this park to complete the Springlawn Nature walk one of Tasmania’s 60 Great Short Walks. It was an easy flat walk with plenty of flora and fauna. The walking track in some places is not well marked so does involve some freestyle but still enjoyable and not an issue. Such a nice day we broke off and walked to Bakers Beach. It appeared to be kilometres of clean, deserted pristine beach. What a bonus. The other bonus was discovering the well maintained, clean and powered camp sites on offer at this park.

Best time to see animals is at dusk. Then they come out of the woodwork. Was told the wombats have been decimated by mange, but will return.

Beautiful national park in a prime location with couple of camp grounds, both powered and unpowered. They provide outdoor fireplace, flush toilet, picnic tables, drinking water, barbecue and hot showers. You'll need tokens for hot shower. It's a low-cost campground. They also provide dump station for campers and caravans. In this area you can enjoy biking, hiking, kayaking, fishing, swimming.
