Mr Wednesday was recommended to us by a local and didn’t disappoint. Had lunch out front and cupcake inside. Benny eggs on gf toast could’ve been a bit more generous & cupcake would’ve been nicer if not so dry. Coffee was smooth. Note to self: bar & courtyard out back for future happy hour. Relaxed ambience cf Station Street cafés.
Mr Wednesday is under new ownership. We group of 4 arrives for brunch on a Saturday morning. Ample space, service was a delight, from owners and rest of the team. Food was delicious and value for money.nBathroom was clean and tidy.nMenu had enough options for everyone but wasn’t to the point you couldn’t decide. Simple done right. Coffee was strong, how it should be.nnWe also made a new friend, Gary.nnOverall, the experience at Mr. Wednesday was more like a Mr Saturday. There was no midweek blues.
Pretty disappointed, Ordered a fruit sourdough toast, the bread was burnt heavily, complained and got the bread replaced, slightly better but still burnt. It might be fine for people who do not mind burnt toast, but I do.
I came here during the school holidays and loved the vibe and the style.The vibe and the baked goods at the front. However, I ordered a decade coffee and got a caffeinated one, which I did clarify. The waitress seemed a bit confused.nnI came back to try the food with my partner and we had to wait a long time to get seated. My suggestion is “don’t wait to be seated” as the sign says. Go up to the counter and ask for assistance.nnTo music down the back was quite loud, but good tunes. But could go down at least 20%.nnWe ordered the food excited about the menu, but when it came it was dilapidated and tasted very bland. I got the mushrooms and the Parmesan cheese was the only flavour. The potato rosti was burnt right through and the salmon was sweaty. I feel like I could have made the same by buying ingredients from Woolies, and paying 1/3 less.nnWe also ordered the pancakes but they were extremely small and very, very dry; and are pikelets, pancakes. The fruity sauce was nice.nnMy partner ordered the burrito which we had more success than the people next to us who recommended we don’t order it as they left the whole thing in their plate, after one bite. My partner didn’t mind it, but said the only flavour was the nice sauce in it.nnI feel at this day and age when you go out for breakfast you want something you can’t make at home, and something worth $25avg price and a bit more then the smaller serves. You want something special. Mr Wednesday is missing that something special. If the service was better I feel you’d come back again and have a simple meal and grumble about the price.nnNot today, not tomorrow, any other day but Wednesday.
I discovered this place by simply driving by and instantly fell in love with the atmosphere and vibe of the place. It has a lot of sitting , not just at the front but also through the back where the photo was taken and upstairs sitting also. Great coffee and food , the staff are also lovely. Table service , quick service/ serving time.nnReally loved the whole experience here , will definitely be coming back!
