We have been visiting this restaurant since it opened. Never had a bad meal or service. We recommend this place to everyone. Not the cheapest place to get a steak but worth spending the money knowing you’re getting a good meal. Wait staff are knowledgeable and very friendly.

Was not expecting to walk into a place as modern and elegant as this! Very classy but also laid-back and the atmosphere is casual. The bathroom door handles are meat cleavers!! The food is expensive but I can't really comment on the quality as I've made a poor choice, I had the cut of the week which I can't remember what I had because the waiter verbally tells you the cut of the week. I didn't quite enjoy my dish, it was small but my expectations were high. The steak was really well cooked though. My girlfriends burger was AMAZING. She was full so I ate ate the other half and wow! She had the MPD burger. Definitely I would come back to try out another dish and when I have a bit more cash to spend.

I don't know if Aussies have a good palate for steak/French food. MPD is a nice clean venue. Staff are great (except for the non smiling waiter).

Didn't live up to the hype. Great steak but just great. Had a couple of qualms with one of our party's orders, resolved by giving a free dessert. So that was nice!

Quite a nice restaurant, better than expected for the area. Was pleasantly surprised by the bottled beer list (ended up having a Holgate Temptress Chocolate Porter!), and their steak list is extensive with about 10 cuts and 6 sauces on the menu. Staff are very attentive and filling water without asking and able to answer questions about the cuts and specials. Meals were quite nice. Budget around $120-$150 for two people for two mains, a couple of sides to share, and two drinks each. As others have said it is quite dimly lit, with light directly overhead making your dinner companion look a little macabre.
