I really liked the atmosphere and decor of the cafe. The menu offered a wide variety of vegan meal options, but the price didn't match the quantity and quality of the dishes. The food was good, but I felt it lacked seasoning and was served in too small portions. On the other hand, the drinks were served in very cute cups and were delicious! It was the best chai latte I've ever tasted.

Thanks to an article on the Man of Many website, find it here, we journeyed to Balaclava’s Carlisle Street and made the stroll down the rocky laneway alongside 202 Carlisle to the rear to find Monk Bodhi Dharma hidden in what appears to be a converted garage.nnYou need to look carefully because this doesn’t stand out with bright lights or anything like that. You have to make the effort to find it, and people certainly do because the place was full when we arrived.nnThe article recommended the Banana Dharma Pancakes so I gave them a try and anytime I feel like pancakes in the future I will be heading here. Absolutely delicious. Buckwheat banana pancakes served with dulce de leche ice cream, maple syrup and fresh banana chips. The pancakes alone were so flavoursome and the ice cream just added to it. A must try!nnMy partner will always choose the smashed avo dish when trying out a new cafe and The Avocado did not disappoint. A very generously sized serving of avocado tossed with almond, feta, mint, chilli and lemon was served on organic sourdough bread. It was thoroughly enjoyed.nnThe coffee is good although I would personally go the double shot next time. That is about the only change I would make.nnThe menu is all plant-based but has plenty for everyone, the setting is interesting and the team looking after us were very cool with lots of smiles. I even took home a coffee scroll for my afternoon tea.nnFind the laneway, take the stroll and you will not be disappointed. Monk Bodhi Dharma should be added to your list.

Went here on a Saturday morning for brunch. Staff was friendly.nI had the umami mushrooms dish with almond feta - was good and flavourful. Food was very well presented.nCoffee was okay.nCafe was small but very cute and lovely. Nice decor.

This place has been on my list for a while and it didn’t disappoint at all!nWhile Melbourne‘s coffee typically is great, the one here actually stood out for us and we absolutely loved it. The menu has great choices and we really enjoyed our food which was healthy, natural and so tasty that my partner asked me if we could come back again soon

Such a great cafe. I had not been for years and it looks like it has changed hands as the decor wasn’t as outstanding and the staff were a bit disengaged and unfriendly. The food was excellent and the Chai was lovely. Unfortunately they were out of Almond Milk by Friday brunch.
