you have 2 main entrances for this track. 1 is from the car park of the mokoroa falls and the 2nd is from 6 constable drive. The easiest is from the car park... it will take you about 35 minutes to the falls... there is a boardwalk. However, if you want to go to the bottom of the falls, you will need to take about 125 steps down... (estimation, didnt count them... it felt like 125 :) ) except from the stairs, everything us perfectly doable with a push wagon... the walkway from 6 constable drive is the Goldie Bush Walkway... it takes about 35 minutes to get to a crossing with a hang bridge where you can choose to follow the choose for a path that takes about 1.5 hours to get to the falls, depending how fast you walk it could be 2.15 hours... or the hike path to the falls. The first one, over the bridge, you need to take when you return from the hiking track... so if you choose the hiking track, you have seen them both. The plaque warns you to not take the hike track after lots of rain.... I took the path AFTER 1 NIGHT OF HEAVY rain... the track was doable, but i had to cross the river about 15 times and was walking trough water 60 cm deep... thats above the knees... i wouldnt do the track when there has been more rain fallen for a longer period of time. The track is heavy, but gorgeous ! and the falls are an amazing reward at the end. Tracking shoes are a MUST when you take this track... The other two options are perfectly doable in normal shoes.

Incredible!! The loop track, along the stream had LOTS of river crossings - you will need to roll up your shorts if going after rain. Whole loop track takes 3hrs, but can be longer. Also there is NO parking on the East side (Mokoroa Falls entrance) with signs up everywhere preventing parking. Thoroughly enjoyed though. Was an excellent challenge and felt so close to nature!

Quite a distance to hike but worth it, two falls next to each other, if you love hiking why not hike along the stream where you can enjoy a lot more smaller waterfalls on your way back to the car park.
