On the 18th of December around midnight I was admitted through ER and all the staff, especially ER staff were amazing and uplifting during my health issues. The ER staff deserve a raise for how wonderful and professional they were during my process despite how irrational other patients were, they kept calm and treated every patient with care! Even with a long wait time which is expected, I'm glad for the experience I received at this hospital
Gave birth to my baby boy on 10/10/21. Had a pleasant 5 nights stay with such supportive midwives, nurses and drs. Thank you Dr Kachana, Dr Anusha, Jacqui, Steph, Ingrid and many more. Baby and i felt very comfortable throughout our stay. Thank you so much
Wish I could give negative stars. Had my first baby via emergency c sec. They messed up pretty much everything. I am traumatized for life. * OB couldn't access my files during ob visit * OB says one thing midwife says another thing * Went to get admitted for delivery but instead they booked me for an induction * Severe infection after c section. The doctor who checked me literally "forgot" to let me know that I had tested positive for infection. Had to get re-admitted 2 weeks after delivery. The hospital staff apologized to me for this negligence. Very traumatic experience. I will never forget this.
I wish i could give negative star at all. Anitha one of the worst service I received from you. Explained i have 2 young kids both are sick at home and my husband is struggling with every hour past. She said “how come i tell you how many patients are in-front of you. I explained my situation clearly if my case is not emergency can i go home. She said yes. Thanks for the answer. Waited for 3 hours for my turn. Had big swollen eyes. Nobody inspected me apart from a nurse. Can you imagine 3 hours wait and finally got threatened that there is patient waiting from 17 hours too. I Can imagine how patient are being treated.
If you are reading this and are considering going to the ER, I would highly advise you to consider the Alfred hospital or Royal Melbourne Hospital. I understand the mercy is closer, but consider the waiting times, you may wait hours even with a life threatening condition if they wrongly triage you. I wish I had this advice beforehand as visiting this hospital left me with permanent health issues as they left me in the waiting room and treatment was left way too long. I will never be visiting this hospital again if it is up to me, nor will my relatives. In future emergency situations where an ambulance is not involved I will be driving to the second closest hospital besides the Mercy.
If you really want to ruin your day and make that worst day of your life, come here. 24 hours in the waiting room and they just took xrays and blood test and referred me somewhere else. The second and last visit today, 9 hours in the lounge and they had just taken the blood test. If I could sue this hospital and their management, I wouldn’t blink an eye. They never tell you how much would it take and keep you in lurch. I swear I have spoken to their staff and they themselves would never want to visit this hospital. They are just bunch of scams. Worst day of my life, worst hospital ever. I wish their own people had to suffer like this in the waiting lounge. May karma hit them real bad. If you can not run it, please don’t.
Beautiful hospital with great staff. Every negative review shows zero regard for the fact these talented people are working with limited resources, and doing their absolute best with limited funding from a government that cares so little for the western suburbs. We were so well taken care of with birth maternity, lactation, pediatrics and radiology. So proud of my local hospital. Don't forget all you negative reviewers. This hospital is the only 24hour hospital for a local government of 300k people, not to mention the surrounding areas. Before you have a crack at the hospital, think about the government who spends all your tax money on the electorates that they have to fight for. Go see Box Hill Hospital, they're looked after far better because they have to buy their votes there.
The worst place to go for medical emergency, apparently they do not treat any case as emergency unless a doctor has seen the patient which can take anywhere between 4 hours to 10 hours. I waited for 3 hours before the nurse could check the vitals for my 5 year old. No care towards patients from health staff at all or family circumstances. staff are more interested in their private conversation than attending to the patient sitting in front of them.
This hospital is such a disgrace…. Don’t even deserve one star.. Very incompetent emergency staff. I have to take my mother to the emergency as she was critically unwell and unconscious but because her vitals were stable so have to wait in the Covid waiting area for 7 hours. Nobody checked her during this time and triage nurses were not ready to listen to my concern because I was Covid positive . My mother had altered conscious all along and no action was taken. When eventually nurse came to take her inside she had no idea about mum’s condition or mobility status and was shocked to know about her dropped GCS. She questioned me that why we waited there for so long as if we have another choice as mum should be attended straightaway. We had so many issues with the staff after that. I was called rude and demanding as I was advocating for my mother and asking for detailed investigation to know the cause of her condition. Staff told lies about her condition and doctor was ready to send her home in really bad condition. my mother was genuinely very unwell and urgently transferred to specialized hospital next day. I will not recommend to take anyone to this hospital’s emergency if you want to save a life. *However, can’t thank enough the security people who helped with mum’s transfer.*
Arrived at ED on Wed 24 Aug 10am. Went home close to 10pm. A big shoutout to Dr Curtis who was very helpful and compassionate when I asked how is my case progressing as I had been waiting for 10hrs then and there was no certainty of treatment. Dr Curtis even saw to it that I get a cup of warm water that I had been asking for since afternoon as I was without food and having abdominal cramp. Dr Curtis even went the extra mile to find a consulting room and see my foot that had toothpick lodged inside. I know waiting time in ED is unpredictable, it was really heartwarming to encounter someone with compassion like Dr Curtis.
