I had a recent day surgery done here and it was the best decision I made, rather then having it done elsewhere.nThe whole process from administration to the service and care I received by the medical team prior to my surgery and my extended time in recovery was phenomenal. I can't thank them enough. What a lovely team who really cares about their patients.nAlso to mention that the parking rates are good compared to other private hospitals, the hospital is clean, has good facilities nearby and is well presented.nI will happily recommend this hospital to family and friends.
I've had 3 procedures here & can't fault the staff, rooms or meals, I'm also here weekly for physio & catch ups with my surgeon.nThis hospital is an asset to the west.nMy only complaint is my injury being a workplace injury I get reimbursed for expenses for my treatment from my insurer but way too often there is no receipts given at the car park boom gates because they're out of paper.nThe hospital needs to communicate with the parking company that this needs to be addressed immediately.nApart from this one thing it is a pleasant experience most of the time.
I had my gallbladder removed here and every single person in my treatment team was kind and brilliant.nThe recovery room was large and comfortable and the room service menu was great. Couldn't have asked for a better experience from start to finish.nGrateful to have such a fantastic hospital with amazing staff here in the west!

Short: Unprofessional post op treatment of those recovering, stay was randomly changed from overnight repeatedly informed it would be overnight weeks beforehand to basically being kicked out 2 hours after my surgery in a very unprofessional manner by wing manager apparently named Justin. if i could give my experience a 0 i would, St vincents Experience was worse than a public hospital!!!nnFirst nurses told me i was staying the night, then i was told that i could leave early if i felt like it but i was still booked in for one night. Next, nurses began coming and asking me more times how far my home is and who could come pick me up, which i thought was strange. I told them my mother but she is working and it was organised a night stay.nn2 hours after surgery and these experiences i go and use the bathroom, and as i am peeing a guy walks in says my name and starts talking to me through the wall while i am peeing. I ask to give me a minute to finish up before talking. I walk out, the male nurse tells me “you have been discharged by the surgeon, what time will you be leaving?”nnI told him i was booked in for overnight and he said “There is not enough beds so you are going to need to leave tonight, so we can give the bed to a patient that needs it”. i was told it would be overnight for weeks beforehand. I questioned why i was basically kicked out randomly and the terms changed last minute. The guy began to act quite nervous and didn’t give me a clear answer. Trying to avoid a scene i just said ok and hoped my bed will go to someone who needs it.nnWhy was there no bed for the other patient that clearly would have needed it as it was so important they asked me to leave?nnDo you think this is the high level and professional service of a private hospital?nnAre you trying to get patients to leave ASAP by lying to maximise profits?nnUpdate: apparently the man who came in and told me my bed was given to someone else and i would have to go home is a ward manager named Justin . I just asked the kind nurses and they have told me that my bed actually wasn’t needed by another patient tonight. It was actually reserved for tomorrow after i leave. And the person who came and told me i needed to leave tonight was not a nurse listening to his higher ups. This explains why he was nervous at me asking questions he was lying about my bed being needed tonight. I am now staying the night thanks to the lovely nurses.nnI think Justin or the name of the man who came in the room while i was peeing and tried to tell to me that i have to leave early and give up my bed while i used the toilet should be re trained and potentially change positions with one of the actual helpful and caring nurses. Clearly he doesn’t understand the basics of serving the public in healthcare. You shouldn’t try to give your patient important abrupt information through the wall of the toilet they are pissing in. Imagine i didn’t speak up or question what i was told to someone else. I am afraid that this has happened and will continue to happen to more people - especially elderly and vulnerable people.nnUpdate 2: some old man next to me decided it’s a good idea to blast the audio he is listening to through the whole ward at 3am with his door open won’t let me add the video. I got the nurses to talk to him all he did was turn it down and close his door which is better than nothing but i could still hear it. That kind of noise pollution should not be allowed at 3 am. The old man needs headphones and stop disrespecting those recovering around him trying to sleep at 3am.nnAlso at this time i walked to go talk to a nurse because i was woken up and while walking there was plenty of empty bedrooms and wards contrary to the lie justin told me. At least 2 completely open and vacant beds with nothing in there on just my row of rooms i didn’t even bother to continue looking.nnBecause of my experience i would recommend avoiding all St vincents private hospitals if this is the quality of some of the supposedly higher-up employees.
