Tom’s F.A.V.S - $19 overall 3/5 Food 3/5 Ambience 4/5 Value 2/5 Service 4/5 Decor is cute and very friendly staff. Prices are just not competitive in a very fickle and over supplied precinct. Udon was reasonably tasty, enjoyed the fish.
Very quick and efficient. Good price. Must be the cheapest Japanese food in Sydney. The seating are a bit oily and dark. They definitely need to clean the place more often and please add more lights. But overall good food for the price you pay.
Good place for a quick, cheap and comforting meal. I had the Koro Mappen and I really enjoyed it: the broth was tasty, the udon had a nice chewy/bouncy texture, and the soup was filled with mushrooms, tofu, and imitation crab. With the tempura on the side, it makes for a nice meal! My partner had the Ramen Mappen but he found it a bit disappointing. The broth, though tasty, was too salty/concentrated and there was very little of it. He’d have preferred it less salty and with more broth. Overall, would recommend getting the udon soup!
Good fast Japanese food. Worth walking right in if you feel like fast ramen or udon. Mappen has been around for a while now and they’ve been consistently making good Japanese food. There’s nice and feel good factor about this restaurant and you can trust you’ll get a good feed when you eat here. Although they make noodles you can also choose a large range of side snacks - tempura prawns and veggies, fish cake, Karaage Chicken and more The space is small but the interior has a lot of J-character. For these reasons I give this place 4 bears.
This is Japanese fast food restaurant located inside Sky Plaza. They are expertise in noodle/rice/ half boiling eggs serving with chicken/ beef/ pork/ beef. If you are typical having lunch in big portions, maybe this restaurant is not suite for you because they serve in small bowl or else you need to order 2 portions. Price ranges start from $10 to $17.
Tasty and cheap ramen noodles here Sydney. Very popular and recommended for ramen and it's always packed with customers. They have quite many choices of ramen and also fried food. Price was very reasonable and portion was quite filling. Grab a quick lunch here!
Another place I would rate more than 5 stars. This place is incredibly nostalgic for me so I may be a bit biased when I say this is the best cheap Japanese and udon eatery in the city. You can’t go wrong with any dish here. The udon is perfectly bouncy and the soup is delicious. Also discovered that they have set meals that come with a dessert too for around $13 which is a steal. You can choose between ramen and udon for the noodle dish, a rice dish with a variety toppings and a dessert. Definitely recommend getting the desserts as a side too, both hojicha and ichigo mousses are amazing.
Most recommended ramen store in city, fair price according to the portion, really love their sides, especially kakiaage, but you need to get the right time to get the crispy and fresh one, otherwise you will get the soggy texture i got it few times.Recommended dishesRamen Mappen
We were just going to grab something to eat before a show and wanted it to be quick. Bumped into this place, very Japanese like, walk through one door and order, pick up tray and take it to the counter to pay. Then bring tray back. The ramen with egg was fantastic and so was my partner's tamura Udon. The noodles were so fresh and broth was great. The tonkosu broth wasn't as thick as Ippudo but it was still rich and delicious. Even better were the prices, approx $25 for two bowls. You can't go wrong with that.
My second visit to this Japanese noodle shop in Sydney CBD. Had Ramen and Udon, lotsa variety for add on, fast serving and decent portion with affordable price. It's efficient with one queue in and out to manage crowd. Good concept of no 'hoarding' tables before getting your food and put your own tray to the designated area after your meal.
