I think it's time I told the internet about my experience at MSCD or Melbourne School of Classical Dance. I went to this ballet school for six years of my life, I first started going when it was in Fitzory. It was great and all, until I got into higher levels of dance, when it moved to Brunswick I wasn't happy about the move anyhow. It all started with one of the teachers, I'm not going to name her for her privacy reasons and all. I'm not going to lie I wasn't the best dancer, I was 11/12 at the time and every Sundays I had this that one teacher who was also the head of the school. We are going to name her Laura or Miss Laura again for her privacy reasons. Me and two other girls where being constanly picked on and embarrassed in front of the whole class. Even one of my friends left the dance school because of Miss Laura. After class she would call me and one of my friends who we are going to name Sarah up after everybody had left. She would yell at us and she even fat shamed Sarah. We where both in tears after we had exited the lesson. There were some lovely teachers at the school who where kind and didn't pick on you, but that one teacher just ruined dance for me. Thanks a lot Miss Laura. I heared during the first wave of COVID 19 in 2020 the dance school shut down, so two years of MSCD being closed I thought it was time to write my experience at the MSCD. Thanks for reading!
Our daughter started here a year ago as a 3 year old and really enjoys it. The classes are structured but also age appropriate. She usually has two teachers in the class who are great with children. We're really happy with the school!
My daughter has attended for past year as a full time student. We are looking forward to another great year. Excellent teaching and supportive environment. We loved the end of year concert, one of the best I've seen.
MSCD offers a very professional teaching and training program that provides an encouraging environment for all students. Great amenities and location. Students are supported and encouraged to perform at their best. Our girls enjoy everything the school offers.
Stop being offended when people make suggestions or tell you what you are doing wrong - You did this to us repeatedly - it's one reason we did not return.
Excellent teachers and great facilities
