As a musician The Alexander Technique was absolutely essential for me when I was completing my performance music degree. Unfortunately it was not offered in my university in new Zealand so during the final two years of my studies I took private lessons two times a week (and four or five per week before my performance concert assessments). The technique aided me immensely with performance nerves, ease of movement in playing, as well as helping me to enjoy performing. I came to the technique as was suffering a lot of pain in my playing and practice. Now I have none. This has lead me to come and join the Alexander Technique Training Course so I can learn how to help musicians with similar problems. The technique has already greatly enhanced my own private piano teaching. David and Jenny provide a relaxed, comfortable, supportive atmosphere at the school and give students both skilled guidance and the opportunity to explore and discover the technique by themselves. The school is committed to constant growth and learning within the technique, and visiting master teachers are regularly organised.

I have had a history of chronic back and shoulder pain for the last few years .The Alexander Technique and especially the School for FM Alexander Studies in North Fitzroy has been a safe and powerful place for my learning and applying this amazing process. Slowly and steadily I am improving and in a very large way due to the teachers that are part of the school that David and Jenny run. I strongly encourage you to check out the technique and especially the school.

The Student Clinic is Melbourne's best kept secret for actors. 9 weeks of 45 minute one on one consults with a student practitioner. The Alexander Technique is an essential ongoing practice for actors and this makes it very affordable. (I believe the Alexander Technique is essential for everyone in today's world though).

Working as a dentist for over 30 years, I experienced neck, shoulder and lower back pain frequently. I tried various therapies over the years but failed to find long term relief. I was on the verge of forced retirement five years ago, when I came across the Alexander Technique, which restored me to good health. I had private lessons, attended workshops and Yoga classes at the Alexander School and found them highly beneficial. Eventually I decided to train as a teacher of the Alexander Technique so that I can teach dentists, other health professionals and anyone suffering as I did, to improve their physical and mental well being and prevent work related injuries and stress. Learning the Alexander Technique at the Alexander School has been the best thing I could do for myself.

I had back pain, I went to this centre for 10 lessons. Not only my back pain went away but all sort of other physical problems started to unravel. It was such a good life improving experience that 6 years after I'm still getting as much Alexander Technique as I ca. Thank you Libby, David and all the other staff.
