I am writing this review to express my disapointment against BMW Motorrad Southbank. I had my bike serviced there and when I dropped off my bike, I mentioned that there was an issue with the bike starting up when hot cold start was not an issue. This was not the first time I mentioned that to them, but the previous times they simply said that the bike started fine for them... This time round, I strictly said to the person checking the bike in, to do whatever needed to be done ie: bill me whatever needs to be changed, as I didn't want to have this issue again and be left having to push-start it. When picking up the bike, I was advised that the issue came from the battery and that it had been replaced. This came to me as a surprise as the battery was only a few months old. Nevertheless, if BMW Motorrad Melbourne said that it was the issue, I trusted that it was the right thing to do. After picking up the bike, I stopped at the supermarket on my way home and to my BIG surprise and disappointment, the bike did not start up and I had to push-start it to get home! I called the Service department the next day to express my disappointment and was told that the engineers working on my bike had stopped and started it multiple times without any issues, obviously they had not bothered riding it to heat up the engine AS I CLEARLY STATED INITIALLY, which would have replicated the issue. The solution offered to me was to bring the bike back for further investigation at my own expense, which was the last straw for me as I had strictly asked for this investigation to take place when I dropped the bike off initially. Meantime, I went to a friend who owns a car repair shop and within 15 minutes he was able to tell me that the issue came from the starter motor. I ordered one that cost me $420 and it was fitted within 30 minutes. My bike is now starting perfectly and I no longer have to worry about having to push start it.
Today I picked up the new S1000RR '22 and the whole process from start to finish was handled extremely well by Leo - very professional but down to earth that made me feel like a valued customer. If you are shopping around for a new bike I highly recommend speaking to him when you visit.
From the initial online enquiry to a very prompt phone call by Leo Edward he was incredibly easy/professional to deal with. Sales people in any industry can come across the wrong way instantly but Leo was anything but. It helped i told him i wasn’t a “tyre kicker” and ready to buy that day - which i did. Transferring the funds was a safe and easy process, the bike was ready at the time and day he said it would be, he set up the BMW app with ease, the pre delivery was easy to follow and away i went. Would highly recommend purchasing your new BMW Motorrad through them and i trust the service department experience will follow through the same sales experience when it is ready for the first service.
Needed a part that they had in stock express posted down the highway to Geelong. Ordered it at mid day on a Monday. Called them daily for updates and tracking numbers. Waited until Thursday morning to be told the order had not been processed or shipped yet. They blamed it on a printer… every time I called spares they couldn’t have been less helpful or enthusiastic, nor did they ever return calls as promised. Reluctant to leave negative feedback but I’ve been burnt hard.
Had the pleasure of meeting and dealing with Omar. Very compliant with all my needs and was worth travelling down from NSW. First time BMW buyer and couldn't be happier. Thanks to the team at Melbourne BMW Southbank
after wasting many moments calling and visiting other non bmw dealerships, i decided to call bmw in the city. "hi can you please pass me onto somone in sales that has a clue about this bike please" 15min later alyx called me and honestly she answered all of my questions to the point where i felt confident enough to visit in person... from the moment i entered, i was greeted by a beautiful and gorgeous member of staff at the enquiry desk, who escorted me to the motorcycle section, where i was met by alyx and sebastian whom answered all of my questions and more. after a quick ride around the carpark and a few other questions relating to accessories, i left confident knowing this was the motorcycle that i would be purchasing for my 3 month adventure around Australia i highly recommend buying a motorcycle from melbourne bmw, southbank i will be back, thank you
Brilliant. The easiest five star rating I can give. Omar is a true professional. I’ve purchased and traded in several bikes at BMW motorcycles Southbank and each time I have been impressed. Today I picked up my new bike and I’m very happy. From first enquiry to pick up, Omar was as ever, I always deal with him knowledgable, friendly, professional and kept me updated every step of the purchasing/hand over journey. In my opinion you can’t ask for more. But saying that, I also think he gave me a very good deal too thank you!, and has once more ensured my custom for my next bike in the future! Granted, there are other dealers out there, but I can’t recommend Omar and the Melbourne team the bike was prepared to a high standard so all aspects of the operation are clearly good highly enough. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thank you Omar, I’m very satisfied!
Just got my scooter from them. Although there were a few hiccups intially, Alyx was a darling to ensure the process was smooth. Sebastian is your go to guy for all the tech advise. Here's to building a new relationship and many more bikes... Thank You
Bought an S1000RR from Omar during the COVID lockdown. Very helpful, patient and professional. Made the whole transaction a pleasure and picked up trade-in and delivered new bike straight to my house. Very happy!
Don't try calling, two days in a row 3 times waiting on the phone for 30 minutes just to be cut off, and of course no call back as glamorously promised. Regretfully can't give them 0 stars for that.
