My partner and I had just gotten engaged and he had booked Melaleuca for our celebratory dinner. It was outstanding! Di greeted us and was so happy for us and offered to take photos for us. She organised two champagnes for us. We had Anais as our waitress and she was so lovely, attentive and happy for us. She organised a surprise dessert. A magical night for sure and these ladies were phenomenal!!nThe food was impeccable and delicious, however what made the night was beautiful people like Di and Anais and a lovely romantic setting.
Exceptional standard of food and service with an amazing menu.nStarted with the house baked bread and some Oysters, the maple whipped butter was so light and tasty.nNext we shared Pig Ears, Soft Shell Mud Crab and Tempura Bugs, which were all perfectly cooked and the garnish was spot on.nHave to say, these are some our favourite dishes we pick at a lot of restaurants but Melaleuca is up there at the top of the list for presentation and taste.nEspecially was impressed they had Pigs Ears and the granny smith apple puree was incredible, so morish!nFinished with the Berries of the Forest which was amazingly presented but a little too sweet for us.nOverall, an amazing dining experience and only wish it was our local restaurant.nHighly recommended.
Walked in solo for dinner on a Fri night. They were completely booked out, but managed to squeeze me in for a quick meal. I ordered the soft shell mud crab $29, pan roasted moreton bay bugs $48, glass of white wine $12.50. All of the food was high quality and delicious. Reasonable portions and prices. Full bar. Lots of people order cocktails and wine. Service was decent. Note that it's outdoor seating only so no AC, just fans, so it can get hot. Definitely worth trying. Best to make a reservation
Absolutely AMAZING! Went today with my partner. We ordered the pork belly for starters the best one I ever had and eye fillet and tuna as mains. I couldn’t explain how mind blowing they were, even the chips were extra good. And then, when we ordered desert, it got even better. The food is 1000 out of 10, staff were lovely and friendly and the place makes you feel at home.. cute, beautiful and with a special vibe. It was amazing!!
Great food, service and a lovely vibe in Port Douglas. The food was really nice - we particularly liked the pork belly, the barramundi and the soft shell crab. The mushroom gnocchi was also fantastic and truly unexpected.
