The Doctor & nurse was lovely, and despite my overall experience the receptionist was very kind and considerate.nTheir systems need some fine tuning however as I had a very poor experience. I arrived early, did as instructed by reception upon arrival, went where the signs told me I was meant to go, to be then told I hadn't done it correctly, and was also in the wrong place, to then be told I hadn't supplied my details. I had filled both an online form and a paper form in. I was very nervous about my appointment, and to be then made feel at every point was my fault was really upsetting.
I have had several appointments at this clinic and unfortunately my experience has been quite poor. The reception service is very slow; sometimes there is no one at the desk, and other times the waiting time is long because there doesn’t seem to be enough staff.nnAs I do not have Medicare, I cannot afford to spend money on unnecessary appointments. When I booked an appointment for an iron infusion, I asked the receptionist for the price. He wrote down a number on a piece of paper, but did not inform me that I needed to buy the iron separately or explain the total cost of the procedure. As a patient, I expect clear information about all fees beforehand, and this was not provided.nnI arrived with a referral from another GP recommending the infusion, as I do not tolerate iron tablets. However, during my 2:40pm appointment, the doctor initially told me she did not think the infusion was necessary. I had essentially come for nothing. I had to explain my symptoms again and mention that other GPs, including from different clinics, had also recommended the infusion. Only after insisting did she agree to proceed.nnWith the process of purchasing the medication, long waiting times and lack of organisation, I ended up spending over two hours in the clinic for a procedure that takes about 15 minutes.nnOverall, the experience felt unprofessional and the costs were not properly explained. I do not recommend this clinic and I will not be returning.nnI also had a very disappointing experience with a telehealth appointment. I booked a telehealth consultation for between 1–2pm, but the doctor did not call me until 5pm. It makes no sense to offer appointment times if patients are contacted hours later when they are no longer available.nnBefore booking, I told the receptionist that I needed the telehealth appointment specifically for the doctor to review my test results. I had to pay for this appointment. However, when the doctor finally called, she told me I needed to book a face-to-face appointment to discuss the results. In the end, I paid for a telehealth consultation for nothing, and I still had to book another appointment.nnThis was a waste of time and money, and shows a lack of organisation and communication within the clinic.
Best day to go is Monday, Got seen in 7 minutes dr.chaminda was polite and thorough and sent me to lumus in and out in 10 minutes! Admin staff so efficient and lovely. So lucky to have so close to home.
The drs themselves once they get to know you are pretty decent. I dont particularly like how I can't get all my problems in the air in one appointment, but overall the Drs are OK.nnThe calls though, are ridiculous. DO NOT call this centre for the reception I know the womens health is ok at least. A call back never happens or its HOURS Later, and if you decide to just wait it out, an estimated 20min hold is closer to 50mins. Like my estimated wait time has been 14 mins, for 20mins now. Either book the appointment online, or drive in to make it. The phone is a lost cause.nNot to mention, whenever I go in, its rare to even see the receptionists on the phone. Maybe they answer it in the back room, but I rarely see it happen, so it unlikely they are 'super busy' as they put it.
Advertises “walk-in” services, but this was not our experience at all. My 16-year-old was left waiting in pain for over four hours in the waiting room. Repeatedly told he was “first on the list,” yet appointment bookings kept being prioritised ahead of walk-ins.nnThis is not a true walk-in service — if walk-ins are accepted, there should be dedicated slots. Had this been communicated honestly upfront, we would have gone elsewhere.nnWe have been seen faster in a hospital emergency department.
