I have been three times over the past year to this McDonald's, everytime a different disappointment. First time. They got the order wrong and left bits out. Second time the wait on counter service is terrible and they left extras out that where paid for. The last time today, ordered a frozen drink and 2 x coffees, Got the frozen drink, waited about 5/7 minutes to be told the coffee machine was not working, offered an alternative or refund. Choose refund, was told to wait for it as manager was trying to fix coffee machine. Seemed a bit redundant. Didn't know how long it would take for refund so just choose something else. Not blaming them for the coffee machine breaking, it happens. But consistantly over the three times. The service has not been great, wthe restraunt always looks dirty with various things dropped and spilt, ill just drive the extra 30 minutes next time for the next Macca's on the south Gippsland highway
Between these guys and Bass you can be assured your order is NEVER correct. Food is usually cold and the wait is beyond slow. Then I had a worker tell me not to come back to complain but to call and speak to customer service instead; despite waiting for the order I’m then to wait on a call to discuss the inaccurate order while my family has half a meal. No thanks. The crew at Wonthaggi missed around $15 worth of food a week or so ago and today Bass missed $10.nnAbsolutely useless.nnAnd yes I’m petty so copied the review to both sites.
On sunday, the 18th of January, 2026, i went to this establishment, and ordered a burger, drink, and a few other things, online, and apon receiving my food, i unwrapped my burger to find a small, dark, odd looking hair, on my burger, it looked too long to be an eyelash, i told the cashier and got a replacement just fine, they where very nice about it, however. Today is monday, 19th of January, 2026, not even a full 24 hours later. I go to collect my icecream online order, expecting a cold smooth nice ice cream. Instead im met with another hair, on my food. I am aghast, ANOTHER hair. The tomfoolery in this establishment is baffling. I may as well get a bubble-o-bill and get better results. Good day.
This McDonalds in Wonthaggi is really great like all the other McDonalds. The interior is really clean and well looked after, it has friendly staff, I've went up and asked 10 minutes after ordering my food to check with staff in case I missed my order number and they were really friendly and was ready right at the time of asking, it was really busy when I went there as it was Easter holidays. The food tasted great like all the other McDonalds. If you're worried about the parking at McDonalds Wonthaggi site since most spots are occupied, there are plenty of parking in the surrounding area. Would highly recommend going to this McDonalds.
Burger was the greesiest of my life, and my coke tasted like someone stuck their feet in a soda stream and accidentally got a couple coke drops in there. Almost unrecognisable as the drink I ordered.nVery disappointed, I was looking forward to that coke, did not appreciate the feet flavour.
