Lady at window was charming and helped me while I fumbled through my order. Was disappointed with the McCafé coffee, tasted like warm milk. Girlfriend thought the sweet and sour sauce with her McNuggets tasted “off”. Next time I will be making the hike to Rolleston.
Best place to have breakfast in between the road trip from Christchurch to lake tekapo. It has a plenty of parking options and many more store near by. WCs are clean and tidy. Usually busy place around 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. A special thanks to Mc Donald’s for having kids happy meals ! It makes trip smoothly with kids having in the cars .
Stupid way the do the soft drinks. So i order. Get a table number Sit down. Waiting i get my phone out. Spectacles too. Car keys put of my pocket to mske it comfortable. Food arrives. Empty drink container. I have to go and fill my own Phone spectacles keys back in pocket. Leave my food and go and get my drink. My food is unattended. Who knows what could happen to it. Back with my drink. Chips now not hot. Better to get takeaway

Food and atmosphere great but the staff need to be alone desired of. One person purposely loved to scrap the chairs over the floor and didn't give a shot about the noise made. E en when asked nicely he continued with the racket.
Went on New Years Day when everything else in town was closed....hence it was busy. Staff managed to keep their cool and professionally get heaps of orders out on time. Only downside are the toilets..way too small for McDonald's of this size and poorly designed.
Please don't expect coffee that isn't burnt and overheated! I was quite alarmed at the lack of supervision with some of the teenage customer behaviour in the restaurant that went unnoticed and unchecked. We had a 6 year old with us who is pretty robust but I just wanted to get him out of there. It was a very busy period and staff were under the pump to be fair.
Absolutely the most unhygienic McDonald's ever. A staff member went to the toilet with her apron on then back to work Bathrooms were filthy and stunk awfully. Chips were stone cold and like eating cardboard got fresh ones supplied after complaining.
It just seems about every forth or 5th time something is not right. Fries not full. Missed a custard pie low or no salt om fries. Low sundae level etc. The staff are really nice.Food: 2/5
11pm at night Wed 30 Nov. Apple pie and large flat white $9 something. The apple pie was only just warm !! we went through the drive-through heading south so not stopping to get a refund as we needed to keep moving. So so disappointing. Supposed to be hot !
