Was very clean and up to date. Owner very accommodating. Walking distance to good restaurants and a 15 min drive to hobbiton.
The staff alone make this a wonderful stay. Good old-fashioned hospitality.nLovely clean rooms and large to boot!nWill definitely stay there again if visiting Matamata.
Great spot, close to Main road but you wouldn't of known it as we didn't hear any traffic. Lovely host.
Rooms are nice, very comfortable bed, great water pressure in the shower but the road noise is deafening. This place is in desperate need of double glazing.nThe staff need to learn what working in hospitality means, they clearly don’t know it’s a service industry.nThe two Karen’s I encountered are just rude, they need to learn to smile and treat guests with some respect.nnEdit added after property replied: We had the disability room that came with that carpark booked. You wanted us to move the car because YOU wanted to park your car there, You could have easily parked in front of your garage and not disturbed a paying guest.nYou didn’t make the other vehicle move that had booked the other disability room that didn’t have a disability pass to park there.nYou were not respectful when I questioned why I had to move, the scraggly haired lady was very snappy.nAs for the early check in you begrudgingly let us check in 1hr before normal checkin.
I personally know Wayne and Hillary so this is a character reference rather than a reference based on the motel.nnYou won't come across more genuine, kind and accommodating people than Wayne and Hilary the owners. They will do everything to make sure your stay is welcoming, enjoyable and comfortable and I look forward to staying there soon myself.
