Nice motel at close distance from Hobbiton movie set. We have been generously offered a room upgrade. There is no onsite restaurant, but just across the street there is a supermarket with anything you need. Definitely a good experience especially with the nice person at check in.

Great place to stay if visiting Hobbiton. Welcoming host. Spotlessly clean, lovely spacious, well appointed and very comfortable room. Well equipped little kitchenette if you choose to self cater with a supermarket across road and town centre a 10 minute walk away. Would definately stay here again.

This is a great place to stay. Clean, modern and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. The location is just perfect, walking distance to the supermarket and 1 min drive to the main town centre. Highly recommend this place. Checkin was easy. If we’re back in Matamata, this will be our accommodation for sure. Thank you for the lovely service.

Within 700 m walk of many restaurants and cafes.nRooms were large well appointed and beds were comfortable and appliances new . Cleanliness exceptional.nWould recommend and stay again ourselves if visiting. Lovely country town and people.

A really lovely motel. Exceptionally clean and well appointed. Hosts were friendly and welcoming.nnThe only frustrating part of my experience was the “Card Hold/Test” on the day of check-in. There was no prior notice about this requirement, which was difficult as I had my credit card blocked due to past unauthorized transactions. While I understand the need for a valid card, being told my room could be canceled on the day I was traveling felt abrupt and avoidable. The reservation was made about nine months earlier—some advance communication would have made a big difference.nnOverall highly recommend, but simple communication would improve guest experience.
