4 of us ladies came to Maroochy Bridge Hotel for lunch on Boxing day as we had heard the food had gotten better than its Trader Dukes days. We all ordered a range of things, from Fish and Chips, Bangers and Mash, some Meatball thing, and Steak and mixed Seafood Dish with Morton Bay Bug, plus we got a Cob Loaf as a starter. Food came out very quickly to our suprise and it all looked so nice and were so eager to hook in, but thats where the excitement stopped. Now I ordered the Bangers and Mash and it was deliscious, I pretty much inhaled it as it was so nice, 3 pork sausages were juicy, creamy mash not dry, peas cooked perfectly, but the others were not so lucky with their mains. On the fish and chips the fish I was told was rather dry, not moist and fluffy fish inside the batter. The steak and seafood was on special for $41 and was disastrous, the steak was a piece of flat minute steak and was so dried out, the Morton bay Bug meat was also incredibly dry, the prawns not nice and calamari was chewing, she was so disappointed, and when I looked at my sister as she was eating the asian meatballs type dish, she gave me this screwed up face look that said it all, she wasn'tenjoying hers either. We had really hoped for so much better, but that wasn't the end of it. My daughter in law went her and ordered a choux cake thing, it looked so good in the display, they said they would bring it out, with our Coffees, so she came back outside and she waited and waited, we had finished our Coffees and still no cake, so she went back in and asked where it was and the apologised and said they will bring it out, so she waited and waited and waited again, another 20 minutes and ok enough was enough, I went in and couldn't even find anyone in the kitchen, so went around to the bar and asked there and they said we thought the chef brought it out to you, and we are like Noooo still haven't got it, so the young guy came around got the cake out of the display stuck it in a box and gave it to me, so I took it out and gave it to my daughters in law and she started to eat it, it was so dry also to the point it was inedible, even the custard cream stuff inside was thick, she ended up leaving it, she just couldn't even eat it. So our visited Bixing day was disastrous, what was meant to be a lovely ladies luncheon was such a disappointment. At least we went home and got to have a deliscious dinner that night with leftovers from Xmas day, it was so much better. Do Chefs no longer take pride in their food they serve up anymore, it seems they have lost their passion its hard to find good pub food anymore, but the prices seem to keep going up and up and the quality of the food keeps going down and do owners and management just don't seem to care anymore? such a shame.
We had a occasion to met up with friends for lunch during the week. Never been there before, but seen it often. Great place to have a quick lunch. Food was lovely and good value for money. I guess it wasn't super busy. However I found the service to be A+ and the staff AA+. Will be back at some point to try something else on the menu. Was reasonably easy to get a wheelchair into the venue and was plenty of room at the table to fit the wheelchair.
Really enjoyed my meal here with my elderly Mum. The wait staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Marnie especially was lovely and very helpful. The raffle was a but of fun, except for the lady that screamed through the mic, even the table next to us all commented.
Very disappointed that this was our local where we visited a couple of times a week but still never made to feel welcomed. It costs us more to drink and eat here than it does at the Northern Grounds which is down the road, has recently been renovated and provides a much better atmosphere. We have now changed our local. It’s only an extra 5 Minute Walk down the road but they welcome us like the locals that we are. These guys need to up their game to bring their regular patrons back.
A lovely young lady served me last night. I believe her name was Maddie. Can I just say the best costumer service I have had in a very long time. She was so friendly and made me feel so much better after a crappy day. Thank you Maddie, your kindness made my week
