Great spot, right on the beach. Fantastic facilities, clean and well maintained. The Camp Kitchen made it really easy, esp as we were camping. Stayed the week before school holidays- nice and peaceful. Great way to introduce our dog to camping. Good base to explore the rest of the Yorke.
This is lovely well maintained, Pet Friendly Caravan Park. Stayed 4 nights, nice shady trees and lovely grounds, huge camp kitchen, great play ground, clean BBQ area and large fish cleaning bay. Easy access to the beach...Being a long weekend there was a fish and chip van that set up for 2 nights serving king George whiting, S&P squid home made tarter sauce Yum... Also a coffee van on the Monday morning great idea.. Fully recommend staying here
Had a 4 night stay in the caravan park. One of our good friends had the site right next to the wife and I. Very large caravan sites with plenty of room. Very friendly, helpful staff. Great amenities although a few extra toilets/showers would be helpful as the park was very busy. Great place to chill out. Could also tell by the facilities that it's a great place for young kids our kids are now adults highly recommended staying here mark hilditch/Sharon wight
a gateway to the idyllic national park. The staff are extremely friendly..Yup the showers cracked it in one of the ameneties when we were there but there was an alternate shower block and the communication re the issue was great.. To the park managers. we were in site 39 until Sat last week. . As you look into our site tl from the caravanning side, there was a cabin behind us to the left...If you have the details of the people who occupied that during our stay, please send them my regards. True campers and so accommodating and friendly. A beautiful couple
Fantastic caravan park, nice and spacious, amenities absolutely pristine clean ! Close to beautiful beaches, a place to return too
I had a great time staying here. The park itself is fantastic with friendly staff, outstanding facilities and a nice, relaxing atmosphere. The park location is excellent too as the beach is right there and its only a short drive to the national park worth the visit.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent amenities, laundry & camp kitchen. Plenty of children's activities. Walking distance to fishing beach.
Attended here a week or so ago, stayed with my Wife, Daughter and inlaws. Checkin was smooth and the young lady very friendly and helpfulm Cabin 16 large, very clean and well maintained, shower head heavily covered in calcium.. could do with replacement. Great location and very quiet. The first morning we woke and after 2 showers there was no water at all.. and could not do dishes.. 10 mins later water, we went to use the shower again and no water. I went to the office and spoke to the staff, they he and she... the young girl from checkin were extremely helpful and explained a plumber was working on the amenities block at the other end of the park and it should not be related but they would follow up. 10 minutes later he came to the cabin to advise it was due to the plumber and it should be ok now. and it was. The next morning, 2 or 3 showers in and no power at all. I checked the rcd switches which were all on. I checked the SAPN website which advised the power would be out from 7amish to 3pmish for planned maintenance. This was not ideal as we had dishes to do, showers to have and a fridge full of food. Some time later I went to the office and made a comment to the older lady who was there 'bit dark isn't it' referring to the power outage she looked at me blankly with no response. I explained i was there to enquire about 'borrowing' a pedal kart, again a blank look with a bitter response, 'you can hire them'. I responded explaining that the lady on check in mentioned they were free, to which in an un interested manner she said 'the bikes are free' I then asked how much for the kart, she rolled her eyes and checked in the book.. she told me the price, I explained i didn't have any money on me right now, again a blank stare.. I turned around and walked out, she said nothing else. This was going to be one of my only two 5 star accommodation reviews ever and I travel a lot for work and occasionally for pleasure, even after the plumbing issue... However SAPN would have advised the locals that the power would have been off for most of the day, this should have been. explained to visitors so they could plan their day... and secondly the attitude of the staff member... In an effort to make a customer happy considering they had no water the first morning and no power the second day, you could look to forgo the measly 10 to $15 hire on the bike... this would have been a 5 star review even with the power issue.. I was looking forward to taking my daughter on the bike so much since we had checked in.. however with the attitude and how uncomfortable I felt with the mix up with the hire cost I was not going to get money and return. I am torn, I loved the park location and friendliness of some staff.. however I also felt unappreciated as a customer.
Marion Bay itself is a great location and the Marion Bay Caravan Park is well appointed. We enjoyed our stay here immensely, but for a few issues. Park Wifi was only reliable right next to the camp office and the tv reception for cabins was rather patchy, often being unavailable. Customer service was seriously lacking at check-in leading to us being stranded outside the park for two and half hours. Read below for details. Due to events outside of our control attending to a sudden death on the day of our departure from home, we had to ring ahead to say we would arrive at 6:20pm check-in was advised as being 6pm. Upon arrival at 6:20pm we found no-one anywhere on site to oversee our check-in. Around 6:40pm we were told by a food van owner that the managing couple had gone fishing somewhere quite some time ago and when he had needed them for something prior to our arrival he hadn't been able to find them. Not having any mobile phone reception, we were left stranded until 8:50pm. Now close to sunset, hungry and unsure when or if we would be able to check-in that night, I walked into the park and went to the food van to get us something to eat only for the van owner to point to a couple sitting on the grass in front of the van and say 'weren't you the guy looking for the manager? Here they are here.' I turned and said, 'oh, are you the manager?' To which, the husband said, 'no, I just work here'. Turns out he had driven into the park with boat in tow like many before him a good 30 minutes prior looking at me intently and me looking at him intently, but didn't stop or give any indication he was the manager. Instead of driving into the manager's house, they then left us there and drove into the park to relax out of site beside the food van. Eventually, the wife admitted they were the managers much to my confusion! and told me that they had texted me to say where I could find the key to my cabin. I thanked them, followed their verbal instructions and retrieved the key. While we took it all in stride in the moment, the lack of care at the time and the fact that a week later in high phone reception areas I am yet to receive the text they claimed to have sent me, but have received calls and texts from a number of others sent prior to that time and since, has led to this review in the hope of improvements for the sake of future travellers.
Excellent for the price. Cabin was old as it says in the description, but as we were only using it as a base for exploring Innes national park and surrounds, it was good. Everything worked the shower was really good!, it was clean and staff were very helpful and friendly. Just a shame about the d*** flying his drone at 6:30am...if you stay here, definitely get up for the sunrise over the water! Amazing!
