I reached out to Mackay for advice after another funeral company let us down when my father passed recently. They were very understanding and compassionate, answered all my questions open and honestly without hesitation. My family and I felt supported every step of the way through this stressful time. The chapel is beautiful and has a very homely feel to it. We weren’t rushed out the door to make way for the next funeral because they don’t book them back to back like other places. We felt nothing but care and compassion from them and confident they would treat dad with the same respect. Well done Mackay you are doing a fantastic job in helping people through their darkest days. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them to anyone.
Mackay looked after my Dad years ago and recently looked after my brother. We were very impressed with their professional and caring support on both occasions. My brother loved loud colours amongst other things and Mackay gracefully supported his children and family organise and execute a very personal service. Having, sadly, planned a few funerals now I would highly recommend Mackay.
I have had to organise funerals for three immediate family members over the last three years. Two of these funerals occurred while I was living overseas. Covid and other restrictions could have made the organising of such important family events very difficult, but the team at MacKay were magnificent on each occasion, and I was able to put together services that were appreciated by everyone involved. The MacKay team know their business; they deal with the official administration, and always guided me compassionately, making thoughtful suggestions and pretty much going way beyond what was expected. Friendly, insightful and professional, the Mackay team carried the process, leaving me and other family members to grieve and care for each other. Thank you, MBJ
wanted to write a review to let people know how loving, kind and compassionate the Mackay Family Funerals is. They make planning very easy even though its such a painful time. They are there to help but unobtrusive. Michael Mackay, his daughter Alyss, and the staff are there for every need no matter how easy or difficult. I highly recommend them, you will feel absolute peace having them help you. Aiyss, showed so much Empathy and was fully fully diligent in her duties just an amazing and under standing Funeral home i cant Thank Them enough i highly recommend Mackay Family Funerals 12/10 **********
I honestly couldn't be more happy with Nina and her staff, from the minute we first starting organising my mums funeral they were there every step of the way making me and my family feel like my mum was very well looked after. they are very gentle and empathetic. The funeral was absolutely beautiful I couldn't have pictured a better send off for her. At the end of the funeral all of the staff walked up to my mum and bowed and it was such a beautiful touch.
I echo some of the comments below, especially 'they are there to help but unobtrusive'. Combining pragmatism and compassion is challenging, and Peter Bond from Mackay Family Funerals did this so well. Thank you to all for ensuring Vic's service was one he would have loved. .
Certainly just made to feel like another funeral. Just another number. It's been 7 years since I buried my brother and every time I drive past Mackays I feel uncomfortable,annoyed and regret my choice for choosing them. The priest was lovely but the woman who seen to us has obviously been doing her job for too long. No personal touch or empathy. Just another number.
My family has used Mackay Family funerals for both my parents cremations a few years ago and both had a dignified, elegant well managed funeral by true professionals. They organized elegant flower arrangements, in a sophisticated well appointed funeral home in Palmdale Cemetery or as with my father in the Chapel. This funeral home showed absolutely no remorse towards me as the daughter of the deceased. I understand there is legal issues involved but I felt the person I dealt with had very little to no empathy. I would not recommend these people.
Peter and team did an awesome job Very compassionate and helpful and easy to communicate and costs for funeral where very responsible made my dads day perfect
