Amazing pizza, the base and crust is the best I have tasted yet. Perfect thickness and crunch with plenty of fresh toppings. Got the sausage and fennel, and the jalapeno. Sausage was very nice, the jalapeno had quite the spicy kick. Service was quick and amazing with a friendly restaurant atmosphere.
Great spot, great service and great food! Love Leonardo’s. They are currently running a limited menu till the kitchen is back up fully operational, but it’s still fantastic food and a warm vibe. We tried a few of the small dishes which were great and the salami pizza pie was amazing!
Genuinely tasty pizza - one of our favorites! We’ve been coming here on the fridges and always walk away, satisfied, and very full. In my opinion, like me how to find genuinely Tastee Pizza in Carlton now days that Leonardos is still setting up the goods . The anchovy pizza is delicious, the pork and family certainly worth a try, but everything on the menu has been great. For a healthy snack try the broccoli on the side
Went twice in a month recently and had a great time both visits. Got two of the specials at the time and a jalapeno with pineapple. Also got the two Pastas, can wholeheartedly recommended the vodka sauce with bone marrow.
pizza palace of calrton smoked mussel on pizza fritti grandma pie : @leonardospizzapalace : 29 Grattan St, Carlton : Leonardo’s Pizza Place is back after a year of limited menu items due to a fire damage in the kitchen. The building was once home to Da Salvatore Pizza by the Metre, which opened in 1959. It has been transformed into a lovely casual ‘Pizza Palace’ in 2018. : We actually visited a little before the full menu returned in July, but food was so good nonetheless . Throwback to a menu we all loved, sadly they no longer have it on the menu— Smoked mussels & roast Nduja on Pizza Fritti, cavolo nero, radish & pecorino. Never had anything like it before, so delicious and crispy! Forgot what the pasta dish was, but it was AMAZING too. One of the best pastas I’ve had this year!

They're full of flavour, with perfect leopard spotting that's indicative of a skilfully mastered dough and cooking with the right temperature in the oven. Pizzas are also generously sized as well. My favourite was the zucchini pizza, with its memorable smoked mozzarella and the combination of slightly spicy, hot honey. It's a great combination of flavours and I'm sad it's only a special... but that only means you should get it if it's available to you! Dropped a star because the broccolini wasn't giving me what I wanted. It's simplicity at its best, but found myself wishing it was chargrilled to give it a more snappy texture and more flavour. Just felt healthy... with no wow moment. Would skip this if you're not particularly into Broccolini. Overall, had a great time at Leonardo's. Especially when they thoughtfully provided ranch to spread on to my crusts!! Flavour overload.
Delicious food that is slightly pricier. I got the cheese curds at $13 which was a delicious side dish. The flavours all blended with each other really well. Expect to spend around $25-30 for a pizza here.
Best pizza in Melbourne! My fav is the special with salami and honey. I’ve been back several times for this! Should be on the menu permanently. Also the jalapeño not pictured is also one you have to try. Staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is super cool. Our friend who is gluten free said it was the best he has had as well!
One of the best pizzas in Melbourne that needs its name out amongst the big competitors. Amazing wood fired pizzas, thin crispy base that holds a playground of elements that elevate each other to create a complex flavour that is beyond words. After their devastating fire incident, Leonardo’s have not let us down and continue to satisfy us with their new menu. Although I do miss their crazy Wagyu bolognese pizza, their specials are not to be missed. Mortadella special 5/5: Loved their Mortadella Straciatella Chilli Oil pizza - when a pizza place does a good mortadella pizza, you know they’re serious about their pizzas. Great quality ham, delicious creamy Stracciatella that allowed the capers and chilli oil to elevate the flavours. Pepperoni pizza 3.5/5: Sadly not a fan of pepperoni but it was just so pretty to try. Very meaty and full of flavour - recommend for those who love pepper or pepperoni. Truffle mushroom pizza 4.5/5: just as good as their meat options. The aroma on this was insane and I wish I could have more if I could eat forever. The ranch dip sauce they give on the side is the best pairing with their airy charred buttery crust. I normally skip out on the crust to finish off the excessive order I mistakenly make, but I could not help myself to the best pizza base in Melbourne. Defs gonna be the new spot to kick back on a Friday with their Happy Hour special drinks and insane pizzas and sides! So underrated, needs to be talked about more! Food: 5/5 Value: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5 Service: 4/5
Leonardo's Pizza Palace is exactly what it says, a pizza palace! It does serve some smaller entrees like the Polenta Chips that are amazing but the main food is 2-3 pastas and a lot of really well done pizza! Gluten free options are here too and the GF base is one of the best I've eaten. Their normal pizzas are thin based and bursting with flavour. They even give you a side of aioli to dip your crust into as well. Service is good and drinks list is decent. Worth a visit for some great pizza and fun vibe with friends or family
