Consistently delicious pizza. Menu has been the same for over a decade I think. Great quality old school atmosphere. Perfect spot to sit outside and enjoy a Campari.
Just had the worst pizza from this place - the appearance of the building gave me the impression that it would be a traditional and unique experienve. Rather than blow me away I was bitterly disappointed by the presentation, quality and taste of food above all it was bland and tasteless to top it off they got my order wrong and they decided to argue with me on technicality- I couldn’t get out if there quick enough.
My experience here was the worst I have ever received in my life , the customer service was an absolute joke. The waitresses were extremely rude and didn't allow us to order because what we ordered was "ridiculous" , we ordered 4 pizzas . When we went to pay for the bill she refused to take our money because one of the guys was wearing a hat. This place is disgusting and I will never be returning, I will make sure my friends and family are aware of the TERRIBLE excuse for customer service they provide.
I really enjoy the pizza here. The service is good. Food well pizza is delicious, fresh and authentic. I love the German feel inside. I don't see why people overreact with criticism and give one star. This place deserves credit
If you know what's good for you, stay away from this place!!! The menu is Italian.. So if you're not Italian you'll need a translator to read the menu Absolute disgusting service, the waiter acts like she's going to take our order then says one second and walks off for ten minutes. Such a small venue seating about thirty individuals, uncomfortable chairs and vintage looking table cloths. Exposed wires on the roofs causing a hazard for children and other individuals, God forbid for a hazard. Brang us dirty cups and I felt like I was in Ned Kelly's mothers home from the 1940's. Waiter was very very rude and spoke very loudly humiliating us that were seated together. Waiter walked off on us before I was done ordering my food. All the meats are pork, clearly a Pauline Hanson supported restaurant!! If you know what's good for you, don't come here in your life, don't bring your wife and kids, don't bring your girlfriend or just a girl you're using unless you'd like to come to a restaurant resembling a 1940s home attended to by a wicked witch.
Anybody who gives this place a bad review clearly has got a stick up their ass. This is unquestionably one of the best Italians in Carlton. Sure the staff can be direct, but that just adds to the authenticity. What really matters is that the food is simply to die for.
Food and service were below average. We ordered soda water with a lime and were brought soda water with lime cordial and a lemon. When the drink arrived we clarified what we wanted but were still charged $4 for the waitresse’s mistake as we “had changed our mind”.
I've visited this place a number of times, and never had any issues with the quality of the pizza. The service is sometimes a little slow, but that's usually because they are often packed full of customers. If you are after great value pizza, with good ingredients and no pretensions, this is the place for you. I recommend asking the table staff about the italian named pizzas, which don't list ingredients, every pizza I've tried from that list is fantastic. The house red is de bortoli and dangerously drinkable.
I booked a table for 630 for 6 people, i called to let them know i was running 10 min late. We walked in and where told our table would be 5 min, no staff greated us when we arrived and a baby was having its bum changed on a dinner table. After waiting 10 min i asked someone if that was our table? Where the baby was being changed? It was and we walked out to a restaurant that actually where greatful for our business!!!!! Rude staff and not good enough.
Great food. Not so friendly staff member who said quite loudly 'the aircon is going on and I don't care. Whoever is cold shoukd have brought a jacket'. Although the food was great, the tone and selection of words was unacceptable.
