The fish tacos were very good, also liked the seasonal juicy steak taco. I should have gone for more tacos! Our table was just next to the staircase, which felt a bit not so comfortable seeing all the shoes closeups at/above my eye level.
Our second time here at Taquito and simply outstanding in every way. Casual Mexican dishes created with clever flavour combinations and high quality ingredients. The cocktails are also very impressive and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Definitely a must go place.
What a fabulous place. From the minute we arrived and taken through the menu, we knew it was going to be great. Friendly service is easy to deliver yet hard to find, not the case at Taquito. A big shout out to Wanita who was fabulous with her suggestions. The corn was just like the street style in Mexico, amazing. Great margaritas and a mezcal style margarita was special. Tacos are a must and they have a great selection. Love this place and we will be back again.
Friendly service. The fish tacos is definitely a must try that we got a second serving. Beer was good as well. We had the oysters but felt that it was a miss given the price. Overall, definitely recommend this place.
Located in Carlton is this gorgeous Mexican gem What we had: BBQed sweet corn Twice Fried Potatoes Tacos: braised beef, baja crispy fish, chorizo, baja avocado Guacamole de la abuelita with totopos Highlights of the meal included the twice fried potatoes, even though they were soaked in sauce they were incredibly crispy! The corn was epic and had an unreal kick to it The tortilla chips and tortillas used for the tacos are both made in house so you get the ultimate treatment- nothing was a let down. Service was also very attentive and did not let us down at all Overall rating: 5/5 will return for sure! *Not a collab* follow my IG alexsfoodieadventures for more recommendations!
Had our work Christmas lunch here! Fantastic vibe, lovely staff, delicious food set menu catering to all dietary needs. Definitely worth the $. Will be back. One suggestion - something sweet to end the great feast would go down well. Yum! Vegetarian options: Loads! Dietary restrictions: Caters to all needs
Great range of dishes and flavours. As a team we dropped in for lunch at someone's suggestion - and going to be a permanent addition to our roster of fabulous places for a group to eat! The recommendations from the menu were great, we had a mix of small shared and taco flight plates that were all very happy with, the crispy fish, sunchoke and beef cheek tacos were a highlight as were the potatos and the hot sauce! and the food was quick out so we didn't feel rushed. Good drink selection too, though as returning to work, alas couldn't make use of that.

REVIEW: I'm going to say Taquito has the BEST FISH TACOS in Melbourne. For that title, Taquito gets a 5/5 when I've been on this quest for years but drops a couple of points since it wasn't a completely flawless experience. Soft, pliant taco wraps with a subtle corn flavour holding delicious crispy fish and a fantastic cream white sauce. Exactly how I imagined it to be done, and it played out perfectly. The pickled cabbage adds a bit of tartness so you've got all your senses hit with every bite. Their tacos are different from the standard Mexican offering, so their offer of a flight of 4 makes sense. Tried a couple others, but they couldn't hold a candlelight to the Pescado. Birria de chivo would take 2nd place though. Entrees are interesting, and certainly geared towards a fine dining type presentation and mix of flavours. A spin on the classic elotes although would've actually preferred actual corn instead of baby corn and the black sauce presentation of the ceviche actually threw us off at first. But, trust in the process and we did end up really enjoying that dish. Churros were a bit too thin for my liking. Without the satisfaction of the crispy vs softness of the churros, and the dulce de leche in a very liquid form... it was messy and there was no real satisfaction derived from biting into the churros. You could probably do dessert elsewhere. Service is friendly, and atmosphere is lively. Set downstairs, they've also decorated the interior with greenery up to eye level. Gives very casual vibes, and a nice breath away from the concrete industrial city that is Melbourne. Highly recommend Taquito if you're looking for fantastic fish tacos.
Taquitos is a cool venue, good vibe, good seating options inside, outside and out the back. Staff are friendly and helpful but the service can be a tad slow. Food here is a bit meh! It's below ok but not bad. The menu reads well but it does not come through to the plate. The Ceviche was boring to be honest, nothing that made it enjoyable, but you're eating. The fish taco was the highlight, light, good flavours and a go to. The guacamole and chips were good too but the rest of the tacos were very meh. The crispy skin chicken was not crispy but soggy chicken fat, the pork tasted like canned tuna and sloppy. We left full but it was not a great experience and I could not recommend people to go. Glad we tried it giving the other Google's reviews and how busy this place gets, but won't be back. Much better Mexican available elsewhere. 2.5 stars if I could as it's not bad, but it's not quiet ok
Amazing Mexican food. The cerviche kingfish sashimi with habanero dressing along with the plantain was excellent. The beetroots with mole was sublime, the scallops were dressed in a beautiful corn spicy sour sauce. The two tacos fish and moradillo sausage were amazing. The flan was excellent, churros and corn cake were excellent. Would recommend this place as a value grunge like Kaprica type restaurant!
