Wow! Hot tub time machine! I was transported to the 90s the minute we walked in the room! Our room was clean however I must agree with other reviewers on a few major items. For the price you pay for the "Four Star" accommodation you would have certain expectations like not having 25 year old velour pillows and a matching couch! Fancy. The "spa" is a triangle spa bath located in the bathroom so you can take in the views of your significant other taking a dump in the corner. Romantic. The cabins are actually duplex cabins with paper thin walls. Private. The mini bar needs a bit of a refresh also, when your closest town is 45 mins away, a bit more selection would be appreciated. The restaurant serves very nicely cooked food and the staff we encountered were friendly. Like others who have reviewed, I agree that it has so much potential but could do with a major face lift to get up to those 4 stars.

Wilderness says it all. Quiet, secluded with access to Cradle Mtn area. The cabin was comfortable, very well appointed with large bathroom, lounge with fireplace and a deck overlooking the bush. The lodge is quite lovely too. Made with Ponderosa Pine and big stone fireplace. Feed the Pademelons and Possums after dark here too. Had a wonderfully relaxed 2 nights. On the negative side, the menu is a little basic albeit generous portions. All the dishes we had were under seasoned. Needed lots of salt and pepper to impart some flavour. My trout tasted muddy, so at least there was some flavour there. Overall a 4 star experience, only let down by the menu.

Hi All, My family and I travelled 4hrs to Lemon Thyme Wilderness Retreat to find out there was no spa in our room. Apparently these are only available in the honey moon sweets which no-one mentioned. Completely misleading. I read the description as luxury tree top villas accomodation & spa, (which is also mentioned on the sign leading to the property) only to find myself overlooking the main car park area in what was sub standard decor and furniture. If you want to utilize the laundry facilities, make sure you have plenty of $1 coins available as there is no ATM or cash out facilities available. The lady at the front desk insisted I pay the full amount of $325 (1 night) upfront. After entering the room, I was greeted by blow flies and bull ants occupying the room. The couch cushions were infested with chips and nuts from the previous occupants. Come dinner time in the Restaurant, I requested room service which I was told is an additional $15 to walk 14 metres to our room so I decided to eat in the restaurant out of principal. The food was nice, however we were offered the dinner rolls after we had finished our mains and shared it with the flies stuck to the window. The property itself is ideally situated in amazing surrounds and has huge potential to be an amazing destination, just a real shame it is poorly managed and run by rude staff. I could'nt get out of the place any quicker the following day. Overall very disappointing.

My partner & I stayed in the luxury spa suite which wasn't cheap but was very nice, although I think that more than one night would be necessary to fully enjoy the room. Our room contained native Black Heart Sassafras furniture which was great to see, given the location. The bar fridge was a little noisy at times but nothing major. The shower wasn't particularly amazing and let the room down slightly, but overall it was very impressive & luxurious. Staff were friendly & charismatic but a little bit too much so at times... The reception/dining area had a constant 1980's soundtrack which was fine by me but may not excite everyone... Our biggest complaint was that dinner took 45 minutes to arrive after ordering, and the kitchen closed at 8.30pm, but that was made up for by amazing desserts from Anver's Chocolate Factory. Vegetarian options were limited, as were nut-free desserts. Getting up close with the wildlife eating kitchen scraps after dinner was interesting but we had to question the ethics of allowing wildlife to become reliant on human help. Our room included a full hot buffet breakfast which was average and not overly hot, but still enjoyable and provided many options. Wifi is only available in the reception & dining area, but that didn't bother us as the goal was to spend time together, not on phones. However, if you are with a phone provider other than Telstra you will not have reception either, which was frustrating at times. A highlight for me were the walks available around the property which were well signed and maintained. Other than these there is not a lot of entertainment provided on site. Overall we had a great couple of days and enjoyed hiding away in the wilderness, but it all depends on what you expect out of your trip...
