I would never stay here again. We were travelling over the Christmas break with no booking, so granted there weren’t many options, however we did not expect the service we received. To begin with, the lady at reception was so incredibly rude I was gob smacked. We did get a warning though to keep everything locked as there had been some recent break ins. Awesome! Then we were given a site for $40 a night which was really just the park/grass in the campgrounds with a couple of others sharing. This grassy area backed onto some mangroves which were full of rubbish, as well as a pier nearby with access to the public. This meant that there were people constantly walking through our site in the middle of the night. The suburb itself didn’t feel extremely safe so having people walk through in the middle of the night when you’re sleeping in a swag wasn’t ideal. The next day we left about 8am and as the office didn’t open until 10am we left the keys for the amenities in the drop box and thought we would call when they open so they can refund the $10 bond for the keys. This was 2 months ago and we are still waiting for the refund.

Great little caravan park minutes and seconds away from lakes and main beaches that are patrolled by life guards. This gorgeous park has manicure gardens and maintained with recycling services plus it's own kiosk that serves awesome food from burgers and chip and lollies and ice cream for the sweet tooth. Well known for being small dog friendly this park caters for the camping enthusiasts from cabin, powered and empowered sites and tent friendly. With cctv surveillance this park ensures safety and respect for holiday makers and long-term residents. With a duty of care and helpful staff to ensure safely for children and residents 5 km limits. Amenities block are cleaned daily and in peak Season twice a day. Washing and drying facilities also available. Cash and cards are excepted and small key deposit for amenities block refundable on departure

The casual receptionist has had her judgement clouded with jealousy. She reminded me of the robot on the Silverchair film clip on YouTube "Anthem for the year 2000". The locals thought she resented working Christmas eve. This Park isn't geared towards the tourist, and certainly isn't accustomed to international visitors. She'll think you're a weirdo if you don't have a car. But if you fly here you probably won't. The park caters to pensioners. The cafe staff are friendly and you can buy an inexpensive meal here because the prices cater to the residents. The receptionist resorted to insults, and name calling because I wanted to protect my banking details. She was hysterical, grandiose, and agressive. I threatened to report her to the Hoteliers Association and had to call the local Police for damage control. Don't stay here. The Shellharbour Village Caravan Park is the place for tourists followed by the Surf Rider Caravan Park. The rate, although peak season was higher than a Sydney Park that had all the modern facilities by comparison including a swimming pool.
