Sloppy, rude, and unethical about sums this up. I was a walk-in customer interrupting two chatting hair stylists in an empty salon, one of whom got up reluctantly when I asked if there was a slot available for a hair cut then. I asked for the works, which was to come with a wash and blow dry and treatment. I have long thick hair. The shampoo and conditioning took barely a minute and even less time for rinsing, which meant it wasn't clean and there was definitely residue, but I was hastily towelled off, my hair twisted up, water dripping down my back and steered towards my seat. When she started applying hot tongs to my still damp hair and I saw intense steam rising AND heard crackling, I asked her if she could lower the heat setting as it wasn't good for my hair. Her face changed visibly and she showed her unhappiness. That's when I got mad. I asked her if she wanted to continue doing my hair as she was clearly unhappy at my request. Her response was that my hair was so thick, this would make it easier for her to cut my hair. I told her it might be more convenient for her but it was damaging to my hair. She looked at me as if I were retarded and said they did this all the time and I should always expect this amount of steam coming off my hair. I told her she should have dried my hair properly before putting the tongs on but no, she continued arguing otherwise. She then said if I wanted to go I could go. I said yes, got up to leave, and she had to cheek to tell me I had to pay $30 for the wash and blow dry, which was almost half of what the whole thing would have cost. I pointed out that the wash barely lasted two minutes and my hair was still damp there was no blowdry, but she insisted. I had to pay $30 for a 2-minute job where they fried my hair, and I walked out with half of my hair damp and the other half burnt. I have never been so furious in my life with a salon. This has been the absolute worst hair experience ever - and to charge me after all this was downright dishonest. Stay away.

I thought I had finally found a great hairdresser. The first experience was great. Then I had two different hairdressers the following times. So I made an appointment with the original hairdresser and was happy again. She asks questions and listens to what you want. Unlike the others that didn't ask or did what they wanted. I made my last appointment and asked especially for the first hairdresser, when I arrived, it wasn't who I asked for. After over an hour of being left in a back room with colour on(had same colour before and wasn't left on as long nor was there a timer set up this time) , felt as though I was forgotten, I asked what was happening. After some time I was looked at and taken to basin and had my hair washed, with the edge of my hair line scrubbed, as the colour had stained my face, I was left waiting without as much as a word, again. The hairdresser came and washed my hair again. I assume I had a treatment in, I don't know as no one spoke to me. I went back to the chair and the hairdresser started putting on some more product on my hair line where my skin was stained, and it stung. I advised her that the guy who washed my hair did that already 2x at the sink, to which she replied oh and wiped it off saying she would address it again after the haircut. She observed my hair and said just a trim and I replied yes, and she added you have layers, we cut it straight. I responded and said I wanted them to make it less boring as my hair is naturally wavy/curly, it sits better with a slight layer. I am planning to grow my hair longer again to below the shoulder. Well, let's just say I have annoying layers around my chin and the back can only be described as a neck scarve. It doesn't feel right. I can just pull it into a ponytail, so I don't have to look at it. When I flicked my hair to the side, I found a section that wasn't coloured. The colour on my skin is till there, plus actual colour next to my ear, as I discovered trying to rub of the stain next to my ear. It is 2.30am and I just feel so annoyed and angry. I like going to the hairdressers for some me time, which is a rare treat, and to be looked after, this time I was left feeling like an after thought, just another head of hair. Leaving I just wanted to put a paper bag over my head. I would otherwise not have left a low ranking review. So the lesson to other potential clients is, ask lots of questions ensuring the hairdresser understands exactly what you want and make sure you get what you ask for. Additional, try to stick with the same hairdresser so you can have consistency in your hair story. I am now a year away from where I want my hair due to a cut that is not what I wanted.

Such excellent service! Great atmosphere, I get my hair dyed here whenever it needs it and they always to an excellent job. Can be a little pricey though.

I don't really write reviews but La Beaute is the best salon I have ever been to. Maybe some of the staff aren't really talkative but they provide amazing customer service and fantastic results.
