A great place for an enjoyable walk through the "English Garden" featuring mainly European trees and shrubs or along that portion of the tree-lined bicycle/ walking path bordering Lake Burley Griffin. The pathway like the garden is mostly well shaded mainly by large Monterey pines (Pinus radiata). Always far cooler than the average Canberra temperature. Often lots of bird life including parrots, cockatoos and water fowl. There is a downside for walkers especially on weekends and public holidays in that far too many cyclists furiously speed along the pathway and a high degree of alertness is very advisable and be sure to walk on the left and keep a good eye on any children.

Nice place to enjoy the lake, lots of shade, green grass and BBQ areas. Great for a swim if you venture past the swans and droppings!

Kids love the train ride and now you can stop at the mini farm half way and play with the animals.

Lovely park with views across the water, lots of kangaroos, and barbecue and picnic spots. Great at this time of year!
