Sphinx trail is great for either walking or trail running. Well established trail running along the edge of the river. Beautiful and serene. There is quite a steep climb up away from the river. You can go clockwise and walk up rocky steps and then down a management trail or in reverse, whichever you prefer

If you have the guts for it, grab a flashlight and go hiking in the full moon night. I witnessed one of the most amazing sceneries that my phone camera can't do much justice to. Just be extra careful and bring a special someone along ;-) for a nice time.

It has forest, wildlife, coves and rivers and embraces huge inlets from the harbour. One place I visited and loved was Bobbin point. The drive is through the woodland area and then down to part of a harbour inlet. Here visitors have boats or picnic in the grassy areas and BBQ sites.

Lots of great waterways in this national park on the northern edge of Sydney. Definitely worth a visit if you've not been before.
