Kindlehill School has been life-changing for our family. My daughter, who has struggled to fit in elsewhere, has absolutely blossomed here. The caring and inclusive environment has given her the confidence to thrive both academically and socially. It’s incredible to see her so happy and engaged.nnOne of the most remarkable changes is how much she looks forward to school every day. She gets herself up and ready in the mornings without any prompting—a first for her and a testament to how much she loves being there. The teachers are outstanding, going above and beyond to nurture each child’s unique strengths and needs.nnThe focus on creativity, community, and holistic learning is truly special. My daughter has not only gained a sense of belonging but also a renewed love for learning. We couldn’t be more grateful for Kindlehill School—it’s a place where kids genuinely flourish. Highly, highly recommended!
I have three kids at KindleHill and they all love it so much. The Steiner approach works for them so well, they are calmer and more engaged than they were in traditional schools. The teaching staff are so caring and committed. Diversity is valued. It's a real privilege to be a part of this school community. It's amazing!
It seems to be common knowledge that bullying occurs at Kindlehill and not much is done about it. I know of many people who have pulled their children out due to this, and it keeps happening. It happened with our 9 year old regularly and was hard for us to restore her confidence after leaving there. After this happened to us I keep meeting people who had similar circumstances, so it is ongoing.nI would not recommend this school, Although I can say that Kirsty the kindergarten teacher is fabulous and worth her weight in gold.nJust once kids reach a more sociable age they need to be monitored and disciplined if need be. Kindlehill stated to me they are ‘non-disciplinary’, even when presented with physical bullying complaints!
Starting from Kindy and up, kids are given an experience that is unparalleled in mainstream school. Having had 2 kids go through the school, over a 10 year period I know.nnKindness, understanding, inclusion, respect, cooperation, love and education are all found at the core of the school - by daily example. It does not degrade the freethinking and individuality of the students.nnTheir camps and outings are stuff of legend, something mainstream schools can't replicate and which builds self sufficiency in the kids. They come back so much grown up each time they go!nnThere is some 'stuff' written in other reviews about bulling and lack of educational standard. I don't discount that that is how they feel, individually, however the reality is different.nnFinally, the school asks that you participate in your child's education - which may come as a shock to some parents, it did to me - with some hands on help from time to time. Baking, helping out on open day and so on. All voluntary. For this you get to make memories with your kids at the school. Additionally, there are plenty of opportunity to see them in school concerts and plays and other parent participation events. It certainly is not a drop-them-off-and-forget-them type of school.nnIt may not be for everyone, that's for sure. Some kids may not be suited or their parents goals are beyond what the school can offer. That is why you have a choice of schools - find one that suits you and your kids.nnWhen our kids did move on, they were welcomed at their new school, whose principal said to me - Those Kindlehill kids, they have something special!nnAt Kindlehill, you will watch your children grow into their best well rounded versions. It feels more like an extended family than a school.
I am passionate about learning and its ability to be at the foundations of change within society. So I hate to see education being delivered so poorly at any school. Unfortunately the level of learning delivered at Kindlehill is mediocre at best. The school is in serious need of a complete overhaul in management, teachers and leadership.
