Blue Mountains Grammar School is an Anglican, co-educational day school for students in Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12.

Story

The School has two sites which serve the Blue Mountains' community: Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 at Wentworth Falls (approx. 570 students), and Pre-Kindergarten to Year 4 at Valley Heights (approx. 90 students). On completion of Year 4, the Preparatory School students transfer to Wentworth Falls to complete Years 5 to 12.

Every child receives a complete education - one which encompasses all that is necessary to succeed as individuals and members of a community during their school years and beyond.

With small classes taught by experienced and professional teachers in state-of-the-art facilities, the students at Blue Mountains Grammar School have enjoyed success across the fields of academic, sport, performing arts, and a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities.

Nestled in the tranquil Blue Mountains, within a national park, the School is also uniquely placed to offer such opportunities as Wilderness Education (as an elective subject) and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme. Our location also caters for our annual camping programme (Years 2 to 10) and various co-curricular outdoor pursuits on our doorstep.

We have had 2 children go through Blue Mountains Grammar School, one finished and one still attending,  and we could not recommend this school any higher.  From the Principal to any teacher we have dealt with over the years have been understanding and supporting.  We not only have given our kids the best education but also a caring and supportive community.  For anyone deciding on sending their children here please keep an open mind and go visit the school and see what they have to offer, speak with the teachers, speak with the parents & the children.  Then make your decision.  We all have different expectations and this school has certainly fulfilled ours.

We have 4 children at Blue Mountains Grammar and couldn’t be happier! It’s really disappointing to see some of the negative reviews previously posted but each to their own, I guess! All I know is that our 4 kids are more than happy to go school each and every day and are absolutely thriving so they must be doing something right. In my opinion, it’s a fabulous school and those who are complaining would more than likely be complaing at any school...can’t keep everyone happy! Great school, Great Teachers and a great community to be a part of.

I am currently attending Blue Mountains Grammar School in Year 9 and it is the best school I could think of. I totally recommend it for anyone. Although, it is very expensive it is certainly worth every cent.

Raelene everyone is entitled to there own opinion. For my family the school's standard just wasn't high enough!
Our family have only recently moved all the way up here from Melbourne, well hasn't that been a ride!!!! We came from having our children in the TOP Catholic school in Melbourne to pretty much the pits in the Mountains. Don't even consider sending your children to this school. The people up here only send their kids to Blue Mountains Grammar School as there is no other private school in the mountains, except for the hippie commune/alternative types or the churchy schools that have 30 per class. Do your homework beforehand you have been warned. Im furious at the school i will tell anyone that listens this school is the pits!!!! There is approx 30 children leaving at the end of the year and won't be returning. Not surprised by that!!! I can't even begin to tell you the problems, just know you have been warned!
I would NEVER recommend this school to anyone.

Ive had friends take their kids out last year and I've heard back from them that they are now behind in their new schools. Especially the ones coming from kindy and year 1. Having two teachers one after the other that are incapable have now made things harder for the kids. I bet the school hasn't given them a refund though. You might think the school is great but compare the kids to other schools and you will see how they compare. As you know all about yourself Raelene! 

BMGS keep standing behind those few incompetent teachers, good on ya!!! 

Raelene i think we all know the school has problems, like most do. There is no perfect school. Yet some of the teachers at BMGS are very questionable as you know all about yourself too. I think that is all these parents are trying to say. Sadly we have few options but to move if we don't like it. Like most of the parents who had to relocate their children last year, and now unfortunately my son is in a composite class which isn't ideal but the school refused to address the parents issues with a few of the teachers. Am i disappointed in the school? Yes. But we are looking at other schools in the area and thats all we can do for those of us left. What other options do we have if the Principal wants to stand behind a few lazy incompetent teachers. We are the parents paying the fees we should be the ones that are being heard.
