Nigel is a wonderful teacher - inspiring, patient and with infectious enthusiasm for guitar and music generally. Lessons with Nigel have been an absolutely delightful experience for my son and me over the years and we have both learnt so much - not just about the technical side of playing and practising, but also about engaging with a tune and ‘being in the song’, as I’ve heard Nigel so aptly describe it. My son has also enjoyed learning from Martin, who is an extraordinarily talented guitarist. I highly recommend lessons with Blue Mountains Guitar School!
My son had lessons with Nigel for 4 years. Both myself and my son felt comfortable from the beginning with Nigel and Dawn, who are well known in the Blue Mountains community. Nigel shows great respect to his students. Nigel teaches with a gentleness and great love of music and but also ensures that good disciplines are in place from the beginning. My son now plays the guitar very well, he plays with confidence and really enjoys his guitars and so much of that is directly from lessons and time spent with Nigel.
Dawn, Nigel and Martin are wonderfully warm, welcoming and accomplished musician's and music teachers. They always make us feel at ease. The lessons are fun, relaxing and practical. Our daughter has had the great privilege of being Dawn's student for about 8 years now and never tires of going to her harp lessons. Dawn is also understanding and flexible when we need to work around our daughter's other numerous preforming arts commitments, which has been hugely helpful.
Some of my favourite memories growing up, are learning to play guitar with the great Mr Foote. Myself and my 2 brothers were all lucky enough to learn from Nigel, a great character above all else. I studied at the Blue Mountains Guitar School from 2012-2018 and I couldn’t possibly recommend it more highly.
My 9 year old son enjoyed his guitar lessons with Nigel and learned so much in such short time. Nigel is a great teacher, very knowledgeable and patient. We look forward to when the school re-opens its doors for face-to-face learning Zoom lessons aren’t ideal with our sketchy internet, so he can continue his musical journey.
My 9 year old son and I are both learning finger picking with Nigel who apart from being a highly respected musician countrywide and beyond is also one of the most gentle and encouraging teachers i/we have ever had. The studio is homely and calming and conducive to learning. We could not recommend him highly enough. Thanks Nigel.

Fabulous school with talented and dedicated teachers. Our son's guitar skills and musical enjoyment have improved out of sight since beginning lessons with Nigel. Highly recommend for anyone in the Blue Mountains region looking for quality guitar tuition.
Absolutely the best guitar teacher ever! Nigel is patient, helpful and his lessons really inspired me and helped me understand how to play guitar. Plus, Nigel is just an all round awesome human! Highly recommended!
