Buying a second hand car can be a painful experience, however I am very happy with my experience at John and Murray Autos. I bought a car from them almost a month ago and the process was smooth and John was great to deal with. The car I purchased did not qualify for the statutory warranty, but J&M Autos provide a 1 month warranty anyway which is nice. The car ended up having a wheel bearing issue and John got it sorted out with no hassle whatsoever. I dropped the car off and it was fixed within 24 hours. When I am in the market for another car I will definitely be paying J&M Auto a visit again.
Just would like to say a big Thank you to John and Clint for the great service they gave us . My son just purchased a vehicle from them and we we’re upfront with what we could spend on the vehicle and John was upfront with what they would be able to do if we liked the vehicle. So it was great to know that there wasn’t going to be a back and forth on negotiation on price after we drove the vehicle like most car yards do. It’s so refreshing to see a Family run business operate this way no wonder they are still in business after 38 years . If you are in the market for a vehicle you must give these guys a call if they don’t have what you want I am sure they will be able to find something for you. Bought my dream car from this place and couldn't be happier with their service. They did a great job of letting me know everything about the car and fixed up a tiny rattle that was identified free of charge. Thanks heaps Clint and the crew!

Great bunch of guys to deal with! Bent over backwards to ensure we were happy with our purchase, always friendly and easy to communicate with. There was no hard sell or pressure, just very open and informative. I recommend them very highly.
I don't understand why some reviews of John & Murray Autos J&M are so critical and drama-driven. I recently purchased a vehicle from J&M that was clearly not covered by any statutory warranty. I signed-off on that, knowing that any trouble with the vehicle was my problem to deal with. However, J&M applied their own company one month warranty to cover any issues. That they did..in full. I have nothing but praise for the way J&M took responsibility for the repairs to my vehicle. Clint and myself dealt with all the vehicle issues professionally and without any grief. Consequently, everything was fixed at J&M's cost. For the most part, J&M or any dealership for that matter are not going to knowingly sell you a lemon and put their reputation and possibly their DL on the line. If you're considering buying a second hand vehicle, join the RAC and have it inspected. It's not rocket-science! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because a radiator leak should have been picked up in a pressure test. However, that was the responsibility of the independent mechanical report. J&M can only accept that report on face-value. I'm happy with the outcome. Clint was great to deal with and stood by his word on repairs. Tony Doyle.
I purchased my Mitsubishi 380 from John and Murray motors and was blown away by the service I received form the boys Clint was fantastic, could not do enough for me! There was no pressure, multiple test drives of different vehicles until I found the one that I was very happy with and a great deal was offered all with the standard 3 month 5000 km warranty! I had to make a small claim on my warranty and once again no issues what so ever and all done in a very professional manner! In my experience I CAN thoroughly recommend John and Murray motors for an uncomplicated, professional sales experience! I looked at many other Car Lot's and Dealerships only to be disappointed by rude and very pushy sales people - boy what a refreshing and enjoyable experience I had when I purchased my car from Clint!......Oh, and they have a great choice of vehicles that were detailed and very well presented! Better than most of the dealers I visited!!!..........Lucas Westwood.
John Murray Autos has been my families go to for cars since moving over from New Zealand. They have always looked after my family and me - now buying a second more reliable car! They were never pushy when i came to look at the car which made me so happy, as other places were very pushy. I recently bought a Honda Civic from them and John didn't lie when he said the car was so well looked after! Thank you guys for always looking after me and my family. I already recommend you to my extended family and friends and will be back in the future. Cheers guys!
Would not recommend these guys to anyone. Purchased a car back in December, 2019 2005 Landcruiser and was told that it was in perfect condition which was verified by their 'mechanic report'. While I was taking it for a test drive, the salesman also said that if any fault was found in the next 3 months, it would be fixed by their mechanic straight away. Found a few issues a few days after signing the contract such as oil leaks, issues with the windows and a fault with the central locking system. Had a chat with the guys and they apologised and said they would have it fixed. They called me a day later to tell me there was no oil leak and that it was just dirt build up under the car and that the car had no central locking system even though it came with a remote on the set of keys. I inspected it again and found there was a definite leak and there was definitely a central locking system. Went through the process again of getting it looked over, and again nothing was fixed even though they said it had been. When i went back to them they said that there was nothing they could do and that these issues are expected for a car this age. They wouldn't take the car back to their mechanic and told me I'd have to fix it myself. If you must purchase from here do not trust their mechanic report and get your own mechanic to verify it. Triple check everything before the money has been handed over because after that, they'll do nothing for you.
