I studied Bachelor of nursing at JCU. I don’t recommend studying at JCU to anyone who wants to be taught by passionate teacher and feel supported in their educational journey. There are heaps other uni better than this.nnThe nursing staff are rude, always like blaming on student. It’s never their fault, it’s always on student. Also there is lack of support from teachers too, they seem not so passionate about teaching.nnThere are some great nursing teacher like David, Alana, but majority on the top position are rude and arrogant. Also, the placement team and coordinator are not helpful and understanding, even if they can give you placement near home to support your circumstances, they won’t bother. They don’t care about your life and situations.
I am the parent of an international student who is currently studying the Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in JCU Cairns campus. We only applied to JCU after seeing that a catered accommodation option, Cairns Student Lodge, was offered. However, at the end of last year Cairns Student lodge decided to close, leaving all its students including my son in need of a new place. The uni. management categorically refused to give accommodation for existing students in order to accommodate new students which totally unacceptable specially in the case of the existing international students.nIt seems the university is only looking for money !!! , which it gets primarily from international students, however in this case is neglecting the welfare of existing international students. This is greatly concerning and is completely unfair.nMost of accommodations available outside do not accept uni. Students merely because house owners are more inclined to families.nTherefore, I do not recommend this university for any international students who are looking for accommodation at hostel.nnAlso, it is found the university website does not offer the provision for parents to make an official complaint. This is yet another drawback of the university.
Hi, everyone! I used to work at JCU Dentistry. It was already 5years ago, but I remembered that we saw a Goana in front of unit chair!!! It was so peaceful, beautiful and natural place.nI appreciate to get the position which is Dental Assistant at there! If I have any opportunity to get the same position at there, I am so happy about it. Thank you for all stuff’s support especially Senior Dental Assistant Tracy, Rie, Pr. Abbott, another Professor and supervisor.nI still keep my name plate and PPE glasses!!!
It's a uni havnt been but the national park next to it has awesome downhill bike tracks..nHave Fun
If you are an Indigenous person looking to study, JCU has great facilities and staff to help towards achieving your goals. They have a new building called the Indigenous Education and Research Center A21 with very supportive staff and a lovely group of Indigenous students studying various degrees.nnFriendly and Supportive Staff & students. Great Place to learn
