Great place to share a pizza and wine on the main drag in Healesville. Pizzas are well made and the mushroom pizza is a must try, high praise from a meateater! Really nice ambience with ample seating and attentive staff. You may also be lucky and see some nice cars in the car park on weekends.
We made a reservation in advance which was good because they were very busy. The food was very delicious and a big fan of the cocktails. My only issue was food was a bit slow to come out. They also managed to squeeze us in for a quick wine tasting which was really fun and we all loved the moscato!
Innocent Bystander was a very unique spot for lunch. The wine came in Erlenmeyer Flasks which was a cool thing for the tasting. The wine was good but not the best we had in the region, however, the food and dessert was absolutely delicious! This more than made it worth it as well as the amazing indoor area they had. We’d definitely come back for food and drinks if we were nearby.
The food, service and vibe was all great! The chargrilled octopus and paella were my favourite. Burrata the cheese itself was good but not sure if it goes well with hummus as hummus is overpowering the burrata for my taste. The tasting wine menu was good too when you aren’t sure. Will be going back to try their wood-fired pizza and more!
Absolutely loved our time at Innocent Bystander. The complementary wine tasting was a great addition and we took home a bottle of the shiraz cienna. Highly recommend the sweet and spicy nuts at the bar to go with it. We also loved the food here. The paella con carne was super flavourful with chicken and chorizo, lamb pizza was a delight and the French fries with the truffled pecorino was a highlight! The ambiance was very cozy with the fireplace and the staff very friendly and helpful. Thanks for having us!
